Capitals sign Joel Ward

Fantasy Impact: The Washington Capitals have signed winger Joel Ward to a four-year deal worth $12 million.
The Capitals get: A gritty playoff warrior who is strong at both ends of the rink. They want some sandpaper for the postseason? They’ve got it.
Fantasy Players Impacted: Ward slides into the third line, and thus doesn’t hurt anyone except perhaps Eric Fehr slips a little further down the depth chart. Ward can sub in on a scoring line, which puts the pressure on Brouwer to remain consistent.
Potential Line Combos:
Ovechkin-Backstrom-Brouwer
Semin-Johansson-Knuble
Chimera-Laich-Ward
Hendricks-Perreault-Fehr
Fantasy Players this helps, in order:
1. Helps the team in general, but nobody in specific.
Fantasy Players this hurts, in order:
1. Fehr
2. Ward
3. Brooks Laich
