To give you an organized list of our content (and to prove that I am somewhat organized), I have created this schedule of columns on DobberHockey.

Crosby, per TSN, is missing the next two games “as a precaution”. This precaution is for a hard hit that he took, and although the blow was to his knee, his entire body was rattled and he is not feeling 100 percent. Can’t say I’m thrilled with this, as a Sid owner in one of my leagues. I wonder if this is what we can expect after every “hard hit”?

After getting the win and then coming on in relief of a struggling Corey Crawford, Ray Emery gets the start tomorrow. I warned of this when they signed Emery – I said he was a threat, however small, to Crawford and that the Hawks would have been better served with no threat at all. I was a worried Crawford owner. So worried that I traded him a few weeks ago. Crawford is still the starter, but the starts won’t be as frequent going forward. And the ‘threat’ will linger until he strings together a bunch of good starts and Emery struggles.

I am changing the release date of the Midseason Fantasy Guide to January 6, based on the poll results. And what I may/ probably will do is tack on an addendum to it on the 13th. I tried to weasel the later date so that I could relax more during the holiday ;). No dice!

Devin Setoguchi suffered what appeared to be a “serious right knee injury” and was wearing a soft cast after the game. This will only help the secondary scoring forwards such as PM Bouchard and Casey Wellman, as well – Nick Johnson gets to climb another rung on the ladder.

Dustin Jeffrey has had a tough setback from his rehab on his knee. Sounds like we won’t be seeing him this month at all, and I’m thinking January may be out as well. Also in this article, a brief explanation of Sidney Crosby’s “maintenance day” after apparently hurting his knee last game (he returned to the game though).

Groin okay. Head is still… not. The latest Peter Mueller news is not great, but not shocking either.

Forgot to note this! I’m sure most of you know already but in case you don’t – Tyler Seguin was a healthy scratch last night because he missed the team breakfast.

Correction on a note below. Louis Leblanc has played four games now. Where have I been?

Kristian Huselius left last night’s contest. Lower body injury. He had missed time because of his pectoral muscle, so nothing concerning from that standpoint.

Alex Goligoski is a possibility for tomorrow’s contest. Again – with a thumb injury like that, I sincerely doubt he’ll be scoring any goals. He may fluke some assists though, I just have low expectations for him in the first week back.

A lot crazy things happened in the goaltending world last night and Justin really breaks it all down for the members over at Goalie Post. Josh Harding left the game with what as pretty tough looking head injury and did not return. Suddenly, the first place Wild are riding Matt Hackett. Hackett is a favorite goalie prospect of mine and despite being peppered with shots (34) he shut the door. A great opportunity for those in desperate need of goaltending help (i.e. most of you). I don't have any word one way or the other on Harding or Backstrom – but Goalie Post will keep you up to the second with the latest, as well as insight from pro goalie scout Justin Goldman.

Also – Roberto Luongo was forced to leave the game and Cory Schneider came in. Luongo took a puck to the neck and left with a 1-0 lead. He gets the win (it was 6-0). Neither goalie gets the shutout.

Also – Cam Ward got the hook. Get this – he gave up six goals, Mike Murphy made his NHL debut and stopped both shots that he faced… yet Murphy gets the loss! How it happened – the Flames scored an empty netter to make it 7-4. Then Carolina scored two. Ward gets off the hook and the loss is saddled on the poor guy who came in and was perfect. Nice debut!

Ward has lost four in a row – so missing out on the 'L' this time was a lucky break for his fantasy owners.

Brendan Morrison with four points playing with Iginla and Jokinen who had three each. That's Iginla's second three-point game in three contests and his numbers are correcting themselves. Last week I reminded you that he posted 76 points in his last 65 games after 10 in his first 17.

That brutal start that Eric Staal had is a thing of the past. With three points last night he has seven in his last five games.

With two points and plus-3 last night, Kaberle showed some signs of life. We shall see, but my hopes are not up.

Back to back two-point games for Jamie McBain and five in his last four games. He had five in 19 games before that. New coach is working out. So far.

Surprisingly, Jiri Tlusty is not being hurt by the new coach. He has two points in four games and is seeing a solid 15 minutes of ice time.

Speaking of young on the cusp players and their new coaches, Matt Beleskey has points in three straight. This after zero points in 19. He's getting the best of linemates in Anaheim right now, although the ice time is still being held down.

I like Devante Smith-Pelly. I like his future as a power forward. But at some point, the team has to take a look at his minus-10 and decide that he would be best served with a year in the AHL.

In my Forecaster keeper league I have a slim lead over second place and I just swapped him Vinny Prospal for Justin Williams. I figure that Prospal will slow down now that Huselius is back, whereas the injury-prone Williams will get me points while healthy…and I have a great bench to cover him off if he gets hurt. Both players got a point last night.

So much for strong play. After six very good games (four of them wins), Semyon Varlamov gets chased after giving up six goals on 21 shots. Giguere came in and stopped both shots he faced – but unlike Mike Murphy he wasn't saddled with the loss for that.

With two last night, Jannik Hansen has nine points in his last 11 contests.

Vancouver really got to the white hot Ryan O'Reilly. He was a minus-3, after going plus-7 the three prior games total.

David Booth took a knee on knee from Kevin Porter and left the game early. Didn't look good.

Joffrey Lupul also took a knee on knee, but he returned for the third period.

Corey Perry also left the game, but later returned. He had a leg injury but seems fine now.

Stefan Elliott was back up over 19 minutes for the Avs, which is a relief for those owners who picked him up recently.

After plus-3 last night, Kevin Bieksa sneaks over the "even" threshold. And now his 13 points, 36 PIM and plus-1 stats in 27 games are about what fantasy owners expected of him when they drafted him.

Ondrej Pavelec has allowed just three goals in his last 98 shots faced over three games. All three wins of course.

Craig Smith led all Nashville forwards again with 20:50 of ice time.

Radim Vrbata is 28^th in scoring right now with 24 points. He was a big Dobber favorite back when he was in Chicago and his early times with Phoenix. Ironically, just when I finally write him off as a streaky 50-point player at the age of 30, he finally explodes and does what I thought he could do. All thanks to a top linemate in Ray Whitney. That being said, I'll be shocked if he reaches 65 points when it's all said and done. But he could come pretty close.

Great game for Brian Elliott, getting the win over a hot team. I had figured that after a tough Saturday game he was being put in a position to lose, so it showed great poise that he was able to bounce back from that. And so the back-and-forth between he and Jaroslav Halak will continue.

Four straight games with a point for Patrik Berglund. He's playing with Stewart and Perron. David Perron, by the way, has points in each of the two games since his return.

Louis Leblanc's NHL debut – 4:48 of ice time, one shot.

Still getting a feel for things is Kristian Huselius. Pointless in two so far. His ice time was around 13 minutes Tuesday.

Al Montoya has won three of his last four decisions and the Isles are finally riding him. He can finally be activated from your bench (if you didn't do it last week) and counted on as one of your starters. His .933 SP is fifth in the league.

Matt Moulson – 10 points in five games. John Tavares – seven points in three games. These two are instrumental in the production of the entire roster. When they roll, all fantasy-worthy players on the team also roll.

Matt Frattin is looking very good out there lately for the Leafs. A lot more confidence. He has three points in four games now. His ice time is still around 13 minutes, so I don't recommend him. But he is looking like a future second liner right now.

Val Filppula did not get into the game due to the cut on his leg. Should be back soon though.

Paul Stastny missed the game with a torso injury. This one feels like another two games or so, but that's just Doctor Dobber's guess.

Backstrom, Ovechkin and Semin reunited! That's more like what we expected when Dale Hunter took over. I guess you can only fight it for so long, eh Dale? (watch, I say this and they'll be broken up after one shift…)

Patrick O'Sullivan – sent to the minors. No shocker there. Unfortunate decline of a talented player.

Interesting feud brewing between the Lightning (and Yzerman) and Versus. The commentators Pierre McGuire, Keith Jones and Mike Milbury are not being nice. I wonder what the comments were, anyone know?
