Todd McLellan Out as Sharks Coach

Fantasy Impact: For the first time in seven years, the San Jose Sharks need a coach. Todd McLellan and the team have agreed to part ways.
The Sharks and McLellan each need fresh starts and a clean slate. This isn’t a slight on McLellan’s coaching, but after seven years it’s just time for a new angle.
The new coach is probably not going to impact the offense too much as a group, but all coaches have their favorites so you may see some players on the cusp of success either really push forward or else step backward. Here is how McLellan used his troops this season:
Couture and Marleau took the toughest minutes. A new coach could quite easily give Pavelski and Nieto (for example) those minutes instead. And what if Hertl was given more offensive zone starts? Subtle tweaks in philosophy come with every coaching change and to peg them in advance is a game of darts. But look for any historical ties between the incoming coach and players on the roster, as well as the new coach’s leanings when it comes to young players vs. veterans.
