Antoine Vermette Signs Back with the Coyotes

Fantasy Impact: The Coyotes have brought back Antoine Vermette, signing him to two years, $7.5 million.
The Coyotes get: There, uh, top-line center back. And we can already guess what he’ll do, seeing as he has produced at 0.56, 0.55, 0.45 and 0.46 points per game there over the last four seasons. Let’s split this one down the middle and call it 0.50 points per game.
Fantasy Players Impacted: It’s the same cast, but with Brad Richardson, Boyd Gordon and Steve Downie added. And if you assume that Max Domi and Anthony Duclair make the team, then those guys too. Before this signing, it was looking like Brad Richardson would be the second-line center. We all know that will never happen. And it’s hard to say that Richardson loses value when he never had any to begin with. But for shits and giggles, like take a peek at some possible line combos:
Mikkel Boedker – Antoine Vermette – Shane Doan
Max Domi – Martin Hanzal – Anthony Duclair
Tobias Rieder – Kyle Chipchura – Steve Downie
Brad Richardson – Boyd Gordon – Joe Vitale
With Lucas Lessio and Jordan Szwarz
I’m not seeing any particular player happy or sad due to this signing. Though I guess, if Vermette signed with a deep team, he would have been buried, with limited points. But in Arizona 45 is likely.
Fantasy Players this helps, in order:
1. Vermette. Slightly. Given the options.
Fantasy Players this hurts, in order:
None.
