NHL Injury Report: Updates on Hossa, Lundqvist, Bobrovsky and others

Injury updates on Lundqvist, Schneider, Sharp, Klingberg, Nugent-Hopkins, Ekman-Larsson and others around the NHL

 

Not a great week for goalies with Henrik Lundqvist, Cory Schneider and Craig Anderson getting injured. Find out what happened to them and more in this week’s IR Report.

Anaheim Ducks: Chris Stewart– Stewart is making progress in his recovery from a fractured jaw and is likely to make his return a week or two before the regular season ends.

Arizona Coyotes: Oliver Ekman-Larsson– Ekman-Larsson is day-to-day with an upper-body injury.

Arizona Coyotes: Mike Smith– Even though Smith was expected to make his return by now, he is still not close to returning.

Calgary Flames: Jakub Nakladal- After suffering a minor eye injury, Nakladal is considered day-to-day as he missed Monday’s game.

Carolina Hurricanes: Justin Faulk has missed 12 out of the last 13 games with a leg injury. The Canes have been tight-lipped as to the seriousness of it, and have been considering him "day-to-day" for several weeks now. He was not at their latest practice.

Chicago Blackhawks: Marian Hossa– Hossa is likely to make his return to the lineup Wednesday after being sidelined for almost a month with a leg injury.

Columbus Blue Jackets: Brandon Saad– Saad was unable to play in Tuesday night’s game against Detroit and is day-to-day with an upper-body injury.

Columbus Blue Jackets: Jack Johnson– It isn’t clear whether or not Johnson will be able to play again this year but he hopes to return before the season ends. After missing Tuesday’s game, Johnson has now missed the last five games.

Columbus Blue Jackets: Sergei Bobrovsky– Bobrovsky has been practicing with the Jackets but there is still no timetable for his return.

Colorado Avalanche: Blake Comeau– Comeau didn’t participate in Tuesday’s practice because of a back injury but is expected to play in Wednesday’s game.

Colorado Avalanche: Chris Bigras- Bigras is suffering from a concussion sustained during Monday’s game and is doubtful for Wednesday’s game.

Colorado Avalanche: Zach Redmond– A lower-body injury kept Redmond from practicing on Tuesday but he is still expected to suit up for Wednesday’s game.

Dallas Stars: John Klingberg– Klingberg is day-to-day with a lower-body injury but is expected to return soon.

Dallas Stars: Patrick Sharp– Sharp is day-to-day with a lower-body injury and should return quickly.

Dallas Stars: Jordie Benn– A lower-body injury is expected to keep Benn out for one-to-two weeks.

Edmonton Oilers: Brandon Davidson- Davidson is expected to be out long-term with a knee problem.

Edmonton Oilers: Ryan Nugent-Hopkins– Nugent-Hopkins is close to returning and, while he won’t play in Thursday’s game, he is day-to-day.

Florida Panthers: Teddy Purcell– Purcell is day-to-day with a groin injury.

Los Angeles Kings: Kris Versteeg– Versteeg was able to participate in Monday’s contest against the Canucks after recovering from an upper-body injury.

Los Angeles Kings: Marian Gaborik– Dean Lombardi is hopeful that Gaborik will be able to return to the lineup before the playoffs start.

Montreal Canadiens: Carey Price– There is still no timetable for when Price might return but he has been skating in full equipment lately.

Montreal Canadiens: Brendan Gallagher– Gallagher will miss the next two-to-three weeks with a lower-body injury.

Montreal Canadiens: Alex Galchenyuk– Galchenyuk was able to return to the lineup Tuesday after dealing with a lower-body injury.

Montreal Canadiens: Lars Eller– A lower-body injury kept Eller from playing in Tuesday’s match.

Nashville Predators: Paul Gaustad– An upper-body injury kept Gaustad out of Tuesday’s game and he is day-to-day.

New Jersey Devils: Cory Schneider– Schneider will be re-evaluated in two weeks after suffering a Grade 1 MCL sprain. In his absence, Keith Kinkaid is expected to start most of the games for the Devils.

New Jersey Devils: Mike Cammalleri– Cammalleri has made no progress in his recovery and is still out with a hand injury.

New Jersey Devils: Jacob Josefson– Josefson missed practice on Tuesday due to an upper-body injury.

New Jersey Devils: David Warsofsky– Warsofsky is out with a lower-body injury.

New York Islanders: Calvin de Haan- De Haan is day-to-day with a lower-body injury.

New York Rangers: Henrik Lundqvist– After suffering from neck spasms, Lundqvist might be able to play again during the weekend.

 

 

New York Rangers: Rick Nash– Nash might be able to finally make his return to the ice over the weekend. He hasn’t played since Jan. 22.

New York Rangers: Marc Staal– Staal is day-to-day with a back injury and missed his second straight game on Tuesday.

New York Rangers: Dylan McIlrath– A knee injury will keep McIlrath out of the lineup for the next couple of weeks.

Ottawa Senators: Craig Anderson– After suffering a knee injury last week, Anderson is looking to return in Thursday’s game.

Ottawa Senators: Patrick Wiercioch– Wiercioch is day-to-day with an undisclosed injury.

Ottawa Senators: Mark Borowiecki– A torn MCL will keep Borowiecki out indefinitely.

Pittsburgh Penguins: Carl Hagelin– Hagelin is day-to-day with an undisclosed injury. He was unable to play in Tuesday’s game against the Islanders.

Tampa Bay Lightning: Anton Stralman– Stralman missed Tuesday night’s game due to an illness.

Tampa Bay Lightning: Braydon Coburn– A lower-body injury will keep Coburn out of the Lightning’s next game.

Tampa Bay Lightning: Andrej Sustr- Sustr returned to action Tuesday after being considered day-to-day with an undisclosed injury.

Vancouver Canucks: Henrik Sedin– Sedin was ruled out of Wednesday’s contest against the Arizona Coyotes but may return Saturday.

Vancouver Canucks: Brandon Sutter– While it’s uncertain whether or not he’ll return by the end of the year, Sutter has begun skating.

Vancouver Canucks: Jannik Hansen– After suffering a rib injury during practice, Hansen is expected to miss about a week of action.

Vancouver Canucks: Chris Tanev– Tanev will not be able to play in Wednesday’s game against the Coyotes.

Vancouver Canucks: Radim Vrbata– Vrbata made his return in Monday’s game against the Kings, skating 17 minutes and registering three shots on goal.

Winnipeg Jets: Nikolaj Ehlers– Ehlers is out indefinitely after a puck hit him in the visor:

 

 

Winnipeg Jets: Anthony Peluso– An upper-body injury will keep Peluso off the ice for the next three-to-four weeks.

Winnipeg Jets: Joel Armia – Armia will miss at least the next week with a lower-body injury.

    there is a timetable for bobrovsky’s return.
    infact, goaliepost has him has the confirmed starter for friday against PIT
