Tuesday Game Picks: Goals in Buffalo, and Winnipeg’s Health Advantage

We are back with another Tuesday edition of Game Picks, where we give out a Gold, Silver, and Bronze selection every Tuesday during the NHL season. There are 12 games on the NHL schedule tonight, which gives us a ton of betting options. I've done my best to research every game and I think I have found some winners. The three games I'll be keeping my eyes on tonight are the Los Angeles Kings @ Buffalo Sabres, New York Islanders @ Boston Bruins, and the Vegas Golden Knights @ Winnipeg Jets. Hopefully, those three games will help us sweep the board tonight.

Below I highlight my Gold, Silver, and Bronze selections for tonight's games. Last Tuesday was a decent day that saw us go (2 – 1), bringing our season record to (11 – 10).

Gold Selection

Los Angeles Kings @ Buffalo Sabres – Pick: Over 6.5 (-135)

The Sabres and the Kings love to score goals, but they aren't too fond of preventing them. The Sabres are averaging 3.86 goals per game, the second most in the NHL, while the Kings are averaging 3.39 per game, the tenth most. On the flip side, the Sabres are averaging 3.68 goals against per game, the fifth most, and the Kings are allowing an average of 3.61, the seventh most. Over the last 10 games, the Sabres have been averaging 4.6 goals per game and the Kings have been averaging 4.1 per game. The Sabres, in particular, have been hitting the over on a consistent basis recently. Of their last 11 games, nine of them have had seven or more total goals. The Kings are no slouch either, of their last 10 games, six have had seven or more goals. I expect both teams to really push the offence tonight and hit the over for us.

Silver Selection

New York Islanders @ Boston Bruins – Pick: Taylor Hall Over 2.5 Shots (-120)

Taylor Hall and the Boston Bruins will look to keep their dominance on home ice going tonight when they host the New York Islanders. Hall has been on fire recently in the shot department. Hall has had three or more shots in four straight games and seven of his last eight. Over his last four games, Hall has recorded 20 shots, an average of five per game. Also, over his last seven games, he is averaging six shot attempts per game, meaning he isn't scared to throw the puck at the net when given the chance. Last season, Hall faced the Islanders three times, in those three games he recorded a total of 17 shots, and that's a lot of shots. Look for Hall to keep his recent hot streak, and his hot streak against the Islanders going tonight and rack up the shots for us.

Bronze Selection

Vegas Golden Knights @ Winnipeg Jets – Pick: Winnipeg Jets Money Line (-129)

The Jets host the Golden Knights tonight in a battle of the top two teams in the Western Conference. Both teams have been very good through the first third of the season. The Jets currently have an (18 – 8 – 1) record, while the Golden Knights are sitting with a (20 – 9 – 1) record.

The main reason for making this pick is the current injury situation for the Golden Knights. Tonight, the Golden Knights will be missing Jack Eichel, Alex Pietrangelo, and Zach Whitecloud, while Shea Theodore is listed as day-to-day. Knowing that when the puck is dropped tonight Vegas will be missing their top centre, and possibly half of their top six defencemen, I am confident the Jets can get the job done tonight on home ice.
