Top 10 Players with Hot Streaks

In my recent articles, I have been focusing on players who could be valuable additions for your playoff push. Most first-liners are already long gone in Yahoo! and Fantrax leagues, so the key is finding those undervalued players who are heating up at the perfect time. If you simply glance at a player’s season stats, they might appear to be struggling. However, by diving into their game logs, or better yet, using Dobber's Frozen Tools hot/cold tool, you will be able to identify who is catching fire. It is a great way to spot trends and even find value in their linemates, who may also be available. With that in mind, here are 10 players who have been on a roll lately. Some are great short-term adds, some deserve their due praise, and others could be stashed as keeper options for next season (especially if you are already out of the playoff hunt).

10. Filip Hronek – Vancouver Canucks

Filip Hronek is logging big minutes, averaging 23:58 TOI per game. While his offensive upside is not elite, he is a strong option in TOI-heavy leagues. Over his last six games, Hronek has eight points, including three multi-point efforts. His ownership numbers are high, but with Vancouver's favorable Week 23 playoff schedule (all games on off-nights), he is still worth mentioning. If he is available, grab him now. If not, keep an eye on other Canucks who could provide an edge later in the fantasy playoffs.

9. Tristan Jarry – Pittsburgh Penguins

Tristan Jarry is back and on a heater, so he is worth mentioning. After some time away, he was recalled last week and has started every game since, winning four straight—three being quality starts against Minnesota, Vegas, and St. Louis. In that span, he has posted a 0.932 save percentage. Pittsburgh plays three games this week against the Islanders, Blue Jackets, and Panthers, with two on off-nights. His roster numbers are low for good reason, but if you need a goalie, see how he performs against the Isles before taking the plunge. Just remember, it is still Pittsburgh, and it is still Jarry. Manage expectations.

8. Jake Neighbours – St. Louis Blues

I did not expect to see Jake Neighbours available in so many leagues (Yahoo! 16% / Fantrax 57%), especially while playing on the top line. He is not on the top power-play unit, but skating alongside Robert Thomas and Pavel Buchnevich is never a bad thing. Neighbours is on a three-game point streak and has been producing at a point-per-game pace over his last nine. St. Louis has favorable matchups next week, including two games against Nashville, plus Vancouver and Chicago. The Blues are spreading out their power-play production, so while his role is limited there, his even-strength deployment makes him a solid streaming option.

7. Teuvo Teravainen – Chicago Blackhawks

Teuvo Teravainen is on a hot streak that deserves attention. His rostered percentage sits at just 24% in Yahoo! and 58% in Fantrax, meaning he could be available in your league. Chicago's lineup has been a revolving door all season, but for now, Teravainen is skating on the second line with Donato and the top power-play unit. He is currently on a 15-game point streak, racking up four goals and 14 assists. If you need an offensive boost for the playoffs, he is absolutely worth a look, especially if you can squeeze him into your roster.

6. Eeli Tolvanen – Seattle Kraken

Eeli Tolvanen's season stats will not blow you away. He is on pace for around 40 points, which matches his career averages. Seattle's offense is tough to get hyped about since they spread the production across all four lines, but Tolvanen has quietly caught fire. He has five points in his last three games and seven in his last nine, making him a solid streaming option for the week ahead. What really sets him apart is his physical play. He has now reached 200 hits in back-to-back seasons, making him a must-own in banger leagues. If you need a mix of offense and grit, Tolvanen is a sneaky add who can provide value across multiple categories.

5. Frederik Andersen / Pyotr Kochetkov – Carolina Hurricanes

Frederik Andersen and Pyotr Kochetkov are in a 1A/1B split in Carolina, making both worth a look. Kochetkov is likely heavily rostered, but if available, he has been rock solid. Meanwhile, Andersen has quietly stacked up three wins in four games (all quality starts) yet remains less rostered than Kochetkov, though the gap is smaller than expected. Both have been excellent in the second half and should be strongly considered for fantasy playoffs. The catch? Carolina alternates starts, so you get at most two per week. If that works for your lineup, both are strong streaming options down the stretch.

4. Adam Fantilli – Columbus Blue Jackets

The Blue Jackets are still waiting for Sean Monahan's return, but Fantilli has been so impressive in his absence that he might hold onto the top line and power-play role even when Monahan is back. In January, Fantilli's roster percentages were nearly zero on Yahoo! and low on Fantrax, but things have changed. He is now rostered in 78% of Fantrax leagues, while Yahoo! owners still seem hesitant, with just 34% ownership. Fantilli has recorded six goals and four assists over his last 10 games and Columbus has 10 games during the fantasy playoffs (Weeks 22-24), including five off-nights. This week, two of their three games fall on Monday and Friday, so keep an eye on Fantilli or other Blue Jackets players.

3. Mason McTavish – Anaheim Ducks

McTavish is steadily developing into a strong two-way second-line center, with the potential to hit 25 goals and 60 points next season. His production is trending upward, especially in the second half of the season (22 points in 29 games compared to 16 points in the first 31 games). While he is not a point-per-game player yet, his growth is evident. His ice time and deployment have increased slightly year-over-year, and his shooting percentage remains steady, suggesting his improvement is coming from his overall game. If Anaheim leans on him more offensively, his ceiling could rise.

2. Quinton Byfield – LA Kings

Does this not feel familiar? Just like last year, Quinton Byfield started slow before turning it on in the second half. Looking at a 25-game stretch from January 1, he had 20 points last season and 17 this year, showing a similar trend. More notably, he has six goals in his last six games. Fantasy managers have been waiting for a true breakout, and while his deployment has remained steady all season, signs of progression are evident. The skill is there, the production is improving, but patience is still key. Byfield is trending in the right direction, and if this surge continues, his long-awaited breakout may finally be happening.

1. Ryan Donato – Chicago Blackhawks

Maybe it is because he plays for a struggling Chicago team and is not named Connor Bedard? That could explain Ryan Donato's surprisingly low roster numbers, but he has been absolutely on fire. Feel free to ignore him if you are into missing out on points and losing matchups. Donato has been one of the few bright spots for the Blackhawks, yet he is still only rostered in 38% of Yahoo! leagues and 55% on Fantrax. Over his last 16 games, he has 8 goals and 14 assists, what more do you need? With Chicago’s favorable playoff schedule, he is an ideal off-night pickup. Go check him out and thank me later!
