Happy Tuesday everyone and to our American readers, Happy Thanksgiving week! This is one of my favorite holidays because I am a big foodie and what my family prepares is always great. I also appreciate this holiday because it reminds me to be thankful for this life and how lucky we truly are. If one of our problems has to do with a lineup decision or trade offer, then I think we are living a pretty good one!

With the holiday on Thursday, we have no games and thus a condensed week when it comes to finding teams that play on light days. The Dallas Stars are the only team that plays multiple games on what we consider lighter days, according to the Frozen Tools Schedule Planner, with another eight teams that have one game on our light schedule.

Starting with the aforementioned Stars, they will be missing a big piece when they play the Edmonton Oilers tonight as Mikko Rantanen was handed an automatic one-game suspension because he has received two game misconduct penalties in his last two games played (although the rule is actually 41 consecutive games). This means there will be a big opportunity for someone in the lineup, and I think they'll lean on the veteran who just came back, Jamie Benn.

Benn is only owned in 9% of Yahoo leagues and is starting to get his feet underneath him as he has suited up for three games thus far. Stars vs. Oilers has turned into a nice rivalry as the teams have played each other in the playoffs the past two postseasons. He should step into some extra power-play time for this contest and with all the bad blood from their battles for Lord Stanley, I wouldn't be surprised to see him throw his body around and register a few hits.

One player who we should see back in lineups this week is Ryan Nugent-Hopkins. While he remains a gametime decision for tonight's battle, he will be a player that we all put back into our starting lineups once he returns. It remains to be seen where he'll slot five-on-five, but he should be back on that dangerous number one power-play unit. I'm not sure Jack Roslovic will get shuffled down the lineup too far as he scored two more goals last game, but you have a great window to sell high on him before the Oilers get back to full strength up front.

The Oilers only play two games this week, so I am not overzealous about anyone else on their roster because after today, their only game comes on a pretty busy Saturday evening.

Kirill Marchenko was a last-minute scratch in the Columbus Blue Jackets lineup on Monday as he suffered from muscle tightness during the morning skate. Former first round pick and trade-requester Yegor Chinakhov filled in on the top line with Adam Fantilli and Dmitri Voronkov and the trio did not have a good game. They lost 5-1 to the Washington Capitals and that line finished a -3. We hope Marchenko can heal up soon as he is a contributor across the stat line, even in those peripheral categories.

Another player that we could see back this week is Auston Matthews of the Toronto Maple Leafs. Head coach Craig Berube has not ruled out the goal scorer for their game on Wednesday against the Blue Jackets. The team will probably make an announcement sometime today, but the fact that he is on the verge will give everyone a nice boost, hoping to take him off the injured reserve and fire him up. 

Once he does make his return, two guys to keep an eye on would be Bobby McMann and Nick Robertson. With the Leafs struggling to win games, one or both of these wingers could see some time with their captain and become a solid streaming option while they are fresh.

With Macklin Celebrini and Connor Bedard playing out of their minds right now (second and fourth in league scoring, respectively), one can envision them on Team Canada when they fly to Italy in February. A line of those two with one of the greatest, Sidney Crosby, would truly be something magical. 

And while I am weary of players that skate in the Olympics and have that extra hockey on their bodies in the middle of an already grueling season, I think this is something that would benefit both players. With Celebrini and Bedard on rebuilding squads, having the ability to go play for your country and be the tournament favorite would be great for their development. If Canada were to win the whole thing too, my goodness, those two would come home with even more drive to help their teams succeed, pushing even harder to become the best they can be. They might suffer through the dreaded "load management" strategy when they come home, but when it comes to fantasy playoffs, they'll be full steam ahead.

Time will tell if Canadian management will go with the youth or focus on more of the veterans who have started their season out hot and looking to wear that red maple leaf come February, but I believe you have to take the best players.
