DFS Tuesday: Boston’s Great Matchup; Montreal’s Top Line; Minnesota’s Power Play, and More

Morning, all! Who's ready for 15games tonight, followed by just two tomorrow? The NHL schedule is really jumping back into the mid-November full swing just in time for fantasy playoffs. For DFS, though, I'll say this, for such a large slate, I actually like a lot of the options we've got coming up.

Slate Preview

Boston Bruins

The Bruins own the best home record in the NHL by regulation wins (26) and get theToronto MapleLeafs tonight who, on the flip side, have the second‑worst road record in the league. Add in Toronto's three‑game skid and the fact they've allowed the most even‑strength shots against since March 1st, and I'm more than comfortable planting my flag on Boston in this spot. The one hesitation for DFS is Boston's power‑play correlation, which is spread across three lines. That said, you can build a power‑play stack here, especially since Toronto has taken the second‑most penalties since March 1st. On a large slate, I don't always want to load all my exposure into one basket, so this might be a stack better suited for multi‑entry builds.

Montreal Canadiens

Cole Caufield (On Wisconsin) has 10points in his last five games. Nick Suzuki has 11in six, and Juraj Slafkovsky has nine in that same span. Safe to say the Habs' top line is humming right now, and they're firmly in my mix tonight as they host Carolinaat the Bell Centre. Even better: if Brandon Bussi gets the start, my interest only climbs. He hasn't looked sharp since the NHL returned from the Olympic break. Trends are your friends; Montreal's top line is a great option in single entry or above.

Minnesota Wild

Let's go back to March 3rd, the last meeting between Minnesota and Tampa Bayin St. Paul. At that point, Tampa Bay led the league in minors taken over the previous three weeks, and the Wild took full advantage—scoring once on the power play, once at four‑on‑four, and hitting the post twice on their way to a 5–1 win. Since then, the Bolts still sit near atop the NHL in minors taken, so I'm perfectly happy to go right back to Minnesota on the road. The Wild also give us some sneaky appeal if Joel Eriksson Ek ($5,400) and Kirill Kaprizov ($8,900) are active. If both sit, I'm more likely to treat Minnesota as a filler stack, but if they're in, the Wild are very much in my mix tonight. The bonus here is that Minnesota plays early enough that you can adjust before lock if needed.

Defense

At the top of my list is Quinn Hughes at $6,900, as he's in a strong power‑play spot tonight. Moritz Seider has climbed a bit from the $5,700 tag he carried last week, but he still looks perfectly playable at $6,200. Erik Karlsson continues to drive offense, so I'm including him in my mix at $5,600. If Shayne Gostisbehere sits again, I have interest in Sean Walker at $4,200. He won't see much power‑play time, but the price is right for what he offers. For cheaper options, JJ Moser sits at just $3,200 and has points in each of his last three games. And if you're dipping below $3K, Brayden McNabb remains live for a block bonus while skating on Vegas' top defensive unit.

Goalies

I'll say it now: I'll be spending up in net tonight. Jeremy Swayman is in an excellent spot at $8,400. Jake Oettinger is also $8,400 and has four wins in his last five starts—I like him quite a bit for single‑entry builds. If you're not playing Minnesota, Andrei Vasilevskiy makes sense at $8,200. The offense in front of him keeps him live for a win in almost any matchup. With Juuse Saros out, Justus Annunen comes in at $8K; he's played well in his last two starts and, even going back to last season, there were stretches where he simply outperformed Saros. Connor Hellebuyck is under $8K at home…and for the first time, I won't be considering him. If I'm going cheaper, it's whichever goaltender starts for the Wild at $7,200.

That's it for now, best of luck tonight!
