Morning, all! Welp… I took my worst loss of the season yesterday. Granted, not many of us were grinding a three‑game slate, but tonight is a new night —and honestly, I love this one. Great matchups, great viewing, and we're heading into the final stretch of the regular season, so let's enjoy it and hopefully stack some winnings along the way.
Slate Preview
Ottawa Senators
I don't think I've rolled out a full Ottawa top power‑play stack at any point this season but tonight might finally be the spot. They're at home, in a strong power‑play matchup, facing a Florida team that takes plenty of minors. The Panthers are also dealing with injuries on the blue line and missing pieces from their top six —great for Ottawa's even‑strength outlook and great for entertainment value if a certain left winger remains out. You'll never guess which two players on these clubs are related.
If you prefer attacking at even strength, I'd lean toward Ottawa's second line. Dylan Cozens ($5,100) has four points in each of his last four games, and Brady Tkachuk ($7,000) has seven points in his last four. Florida has allowed 5.67 goals against over their last three games, so there's plenty of upside here.
Utah Mammoth
If you're chasing volume tonight, the Mammoth are firmly in play — especially their top power‑play unit. Nashville doesn't take many penalties and their PK is fine, but Utah's top unit has been rolling. Every skater on that group is riding at least a four‑game point streak, including Mikhail Sergachev on the blue line.
Both of Utah's top two even‑strength lines are viable, but the power‑play stack is where I'd look if you're trying to gain leverage and climb leaderboards in tournaments.
San Jose Sharks
Let's start with the matchup: the Anaheim Ducks. Over their last six games, Anaheim has allowed four or more goals in five of them, they're top‑three in minor penalties over the past month, and both of their goaltenders have been shaky.
San Jose is absolutely in play — but maybe not the line you'd expect. Before last night's game against Edmonton, the Sharks' second line had been producing well over their previous three outings. William Eklund ($4,100), Alexander Wennberg ($3,700), and Kiefer Sherwood ($3,900) are cheap enough to stack with Macklin Celebrini ($9,600) and still afford an expensive defenseman.
In single‑entry builds, San Jose is firmly in the mix simply because Anaheim is giving up so much offense, and if you're not stacking them, a Celebrini one‑off is always on the table.
Defense
If you're spending up tonight, Rasmus Dahlin sits at the top at $6,800. Right behind him is Darren Raddysh at $6,700, and you know he must be in the conversation on any slate he's on. Erik Karlsson is also firmly in play at $6,200 — he's put up 14 points over the last month and remains heavily involved on the Pittsburgh power play.
Brandt Clarke has dropped to $5,400, which is a nice discount considering the offensive upside and his consistent shot‑block potential. If you're not paying all the way up for Quinn Hughes in Minnesota, Brock Faber makes for a strong pivot; he's fired 36 shots on goal over the past few weeks and continues to log big minutes.
Brandon Montour at $5,000 always feels like a solid mid‑range option, and he fits well in a variety of builds. For value, Neal Pionk is just $3,700 and comes in with points in back‑to‑back games. Simon Edvinsson at $3,500 is another cheap, steady play, and if you need to dip under $3K, Mikey Anderson at $2,900 stands out in a great matchup.
Goalies
I don't see myself spending above the $8K range tonight. Joel Hofer at $7,900 is probably the highest I'd go. Either side of the Columbus–Buffalo matchup works for me as well: the starter for Buffalo or Jet Greaves at $7,600 are both viable depending on how you're building.
I also like Jakub Dobeš at $7,600 against Tampa Bay — that game should be a fun one to watch, and he's been steady enough to justify the tag.
And yes, I'm hopping right back on the "Connor Hellebuyck is under $8K" train. At $7,500, he's not a priority play, but if you finish your lineup and land in that salary range, he's always a perfectly acceptable option against the St. Louis Blues.
If you're stacking San Jose and want to get overweight on that game environment, Yaroslav Askarov at $7,300 makes plenty of sense in what could be a strong road matchup.
That's it for now, best of luck tonight!
