Notch is back again with his winners. Maybe his tips will help you with some tough decisions on your Saturday ticket.

Philadelphia at Boston   1:00 PM EST
Neither team has looked like a playoff team recently but a win today will go a long way in trying to secure a spot in the postseason.  Philly has been cold since the 2008 going 5-10-4 in their last 19 games.  They do however have points in 8 of their last 10 games. Mike Richards may be back in the lineup for Philly.  Boston will be playing their third consecutive 1:00 PM game on Saturday and may be used to the different timeslot.  The season series in two games to one for Boston so far this year.  In the Flyers last 11 trips into Boston – they have points in 10 of them.  Tim Thomas needs a big game here.

Boston – H

Nashville at Detroit   1:00 PM EST
Nashville has lost their last six trips into Joe Louis Arena.  The season series in however a lot closer with Detroit having a three games to two lead.  The emotional level for this game may be quite different for both teams; Nashville needs points to make the postseason and Detroit just clinched a playoff berth with their win against Dallas.  If this game comes down to who wants it more, Nashville should prevail.

Nashville in a shootout – T

New Jersey at Colorado   3:00 PM EST
Both teams have been successful in their Interconference games. The Devils are 6-3-0 against the Western Conference, including 3-1-0 against the Northwest Division. The Avalanche, meanwhile, are a league-best 8-1-0 outside of their Conference, including 4-0-0 against the Atlantic.  When these two hot teams collide it could be a very low scoring affair.  New Jersey has played OK of last but not great lately sporting a 4-3-1 record in their last 8 contests.  Colorado has only allowed 14 goals in their last 9 games.  Needless to say they have won 8 of their last 9 games overall.

Colorado in a shootout – T

  Vancouver at Dallas
The season series is two games to one for Dallas with each victory being of the one goal variety.  The Canucks are only 4-4-2 in their last 10 games and have only scored 3 goals in their last 3 games.  Dallas has won seven straight home games versus Vancouver since a 4-2 loss on March 17, 2003. Marty Turco has started all of those contests, posting a very nice 0.98 goals-against average and two shutouts.

Dallas – H+

  Buffalo at Toronto
Buffalo had lost 4 in a row, before beating up on the injury riddled Hurricanes last night.  This will be the 3rd game in 4 nights for the Sabres.  Buffalo plays a league high 20 back-to-back games this year.  In their 18 previous back-to-backs this year, they have a record of 9-9 in the 2nd game.  Toronto is well rested.

Toronto – H+

  NY Islanders at Montreal
The Islanders have scored two goals or less in eight of their last 11 contests, going 3-8-0 in that span to fall out of a playoff race.  Montreal is 3-0-0 against New York this season, and has a chance to sweep the series for the first time since going 4-0-0 in 1996-97. The Canadiens also are 10-2-0 at home versus the Islanders since the start of 2001.  Halak will start in goal for Montreal

Montreal – H+

  NY Rangers at Tampa Bay
The Rangers had their 13 game point streak stopped by Florida last night.  They will now try to beat the other Florida team.  The Blueshirts are 6-6 in the game #2 when they play on back-to-back nights sp far this year.  New York is only 3-5-1 in its last nine games at the St. Pete Times Forum in Tampa.  The Lightning are in position for their first three-game winning streak since mid-January. After setting a season high for goals in an 8-4 win over the New York Islanders on Tuesday, the Lightning defeated Boston 3-1 on Thursday.

Tampa Bay – H

  Los Angeles at Minnesota
The season series in 2 games to 1 for Minnesota, each victory has come by only one goal.  The Wild have lost five in a row overall, with the last four coming by one goal and the last three in shootouts.  Minnesota has not won since beating the Kings 2-1 on March 2nd and have gone just 3-5-4 in the last 12 games.

Minnesota – H+

  Edmonton at Phoenix
Edmonton is four points behind 10th-place Phoenix in the West, but the Oilers are 2-0 against the Coyotes this season and have won six of the last eight meetings between the teams, including three wins in their last four visits to Phoenix.  The Coyotes close out a five-game homestand that has seen them go 2-2 against some very tough competition in Montreal, Ottawa, Anaheim and Vancouver.  Edmonton will be a welcome change you would have to think.

Phoenix – H

  St. Louis at Anaheim
St. Louis has dropped a season-high nine consecutive contests on the road. After getting a night off, Manny Legace should be back in goal for St. Louis. Legace is 2-0-1 with a shutout and a 1.29 GAA in three meetings this season, and 10-1-1 with a tie, a shutout and a 1.83 GAA in 16 all-time appearances against the Ducks.  The reigning Stanley Cup Champions will be seeking their ninth consecutive win at the Honda Center.

Anaheim – H
