Chris Pronger has signed a seven-year extension with the Flyers at $5 million cap hit per.

 

Todd Marchant has signed a two-year deal with the Ducks.

 

Max Talbot will miss the first month of the regular season. He underwent surgery on his dislocated shoulder. Apparently, the surgery was successful. I know you were on the edge of your seat hoping for success.

 

Calgary has signed Jamie Lundmark to a contract. Hopefully he can endear himself to Sutter like he did with Keenan. In which case, he could be the next Danny Cleary.

 

The Leafs have locked in “The Monster” Jonas Gustavsson. Analysis forthcoming…

 

The Ducks have re-signed d-man Brian Salcido to a cap-friendly $550,000 over one season. He should stick with the team this year, though you may be looking at a Peter Harrold type of season.

 

After a year in the KHL, Joel Kiatkowski has signed to play for the Thrashers. He’ll battle Anssi Salmela for the No.6 spot.

 

Chicago re-signed Aaron Johnson, Colin Fraser and Ben Eager to one-year contracts.

 

The Hawks also signed Troy Brouwer and Corey Crawford to contracts, but two years for them. I wish I knew if they were one-way or two way. I can only speculate that Crawford signed a deal similar to Pekka Rinne’s of two years ago – where his first season is a two-way deal and the second season is one-way.

 

Chicago signed Cam Barker to a three-year deal worth $9.25 million. Thus ending one-half of this pretend threat that the Blackhawks face. The other half, Kris Versteeg, I am confident will not be going anywhere.

 

Colorado has signed Tyler Weiman, Matt Hendricks, Chris Durno, Brian Willsie and Darren Haydar to contracts. None of them will have a fantasy impact.

 

The Stars have signed tough guy Warren Peters. With Krys Barch already on the scene, I wonder if there is room. If there is room, perhaps this means Steve Ott’s role shifts further into offense and away from agitating. Just a little.

 

The Red Wings have signed Jeremy Williams to a contract. He joins Kris Newbury as Marlies who become Griffins. I think Williams could be a depth NHLer – on 29 other teams. Why he chose Detroit is beyond me. Maybe he wants to be a “Black Ace” next April.

 

The Isles signed a few depth guys – Mark Flood, Greg Mauldin, Matt Moulson and Greg Moore – to one-year deals.

 

NYR signed Chris Higgins to a one-year deal worth $2.5 million. He will get back over the 50-point mark in New York.

 

The Blues have re-signed B.J. Crombeen.

 

Toronto has signed Nazem Kadri to a three-year entry-level deal. I don’t think it will kick in this year, but he will get a long look. He’s about a year away. Kadri will debut on DobberHockey’s Fantasy Prospects List this Friday somewhere in the Top 30.

 

The Leafs also signed some muscle in 20-year-old Richard Greenop. He is a longshot to make the NHL. Jay Rosehill, Ryan Hamilton and Ben Ondrus round out the Leaf signings.

 

Sportsnet is reporting that Jonas Gustavsson should make his decision today on who he will sign with. His teams are down to Dallas and Toronto. I think he’ll sign with the Leafs.

 

The Canucks signed Shane O’Brien to a one-year contract.
