DFS Tuesday – Wild About Fiala (April 19 2022)

This is just my second column, and the amount of preparation was at least tripled. I'll try to keep the basic outline each week – a team to stack, an individual skater, a goalie, then a bargain or two. For those in their league finals (I squeaked through one on a tiebreaker), best wishes!

GO FOR: Minnesota Wild. Against the Canadiens, they're worth stacking. The Wild have won 11 of the last 12 games vs MTL in this series, dating back to 2014. Kevin Fiala (DraftKings $5500, Yahoo $22), Mats Zuccarello ($5300, $21) and Jared Spurgeon (8 pts last 10 games – $5000, $19) would be an affordable trio. Maybe add Frederick Gaudreau ($3400, $18) also. It was hard not to pick the Blues here, but Boston has better defense, even on the road.

GO FOR: Tim Stuetzle ($4600, $$20). In the past 14 days, Stuetzle (averaging 1.8 PPG), Brady Tkachuk ($6100, $21) and Josh Norris ($6100, $22) are ALL ranked in Yahoo's top 24, all ahead of Vladimir Tarasenko ($7400, $27) and Robert Thomas ($5900, $22). The Sens are up against Vancouver, who have the 2nd half of a back-to-back, where they are 1-3-2 in their past 6 of these games.

GO FOR (Goalie edition): Jack Campbell ($8400, $28). He's 7-0-1 in his past 8 starts, and playing Philly at home. "Soup" has beaten the Flyers twice this season, making 65 of 68 saves.

CHEAPER OPTIONS: Ivan Barbashev ($3200, $14), Blues, Adam Henrique ($4700, $17), Ducks, or Sean Durzi ($4800, $18), Kings, have been very good through the past month.

FILL OUT ROSTER: Always a challenge to find points with your ($2700, $12) player – look at a defenseman who may get 2 shots and a (+2). Eric Brannstrom ($2700, $12), or Tyler Myers ($3500, $14) worth a look, if needed.

MY YAHOO ROSTER: Fiala, Zuccarello, Stuetzle, Norris, Ryan Hartman ($6000, $20), Spurgeon, Durzi, Campbell, Ville Husso ($7800, $30)

THE TASTE OF CROW (YECCH): So, last week, my "money" figuratively and literally was on Roman Josi. Zero points, but 10 SOG and a called-back 1st-period assist. And the rest of my personal line-up was worse – so baked, fried, or sautéed, the crow was deserved.
