If you read last week's article, I hope you found some of the DFS tips I shared helpful. If you missed that one, I suggest going back and reading through the intro of that here. As for this week, I wanted to take a minute to talk about some of the tools we have available at Dobber Hockey, particularly the new DFS Central Frozen Tools. In there there are options for optimized lineups, stacked lineups, and other custom features to help you dial in your lineups. It's all very helpful and useful information in one place that can save you lots of time of researching lines, power plays, and production on your own. We have tools set up for the major sites of DraftKings, FanDuel, and Yahoo so you should be covered regardless of where you play DFS. Be sure to get in there and check things out and try out some of the different tools and formulas available.

As for tonight's slate, it's a bit of smaller one than last week's hefty 12 gamer. We're down to nine games on this main slate (7 pm EST start) thanks to four afternoon games that are not included. Let's take a look at a few spots I'm targeting for my DFS lineups. The player prices are from DraftKings but the information and concepts can be applied to any site.

Top-Tier Stack to Pay Up For

It's a bit of a unique slate at the top as we don't have Edmonton on it, Colorado is on a road back-to-back, and Toronto is at Winnipeg likely facing one of league's perennial top goalies in Connor Hellebuyck. While I'm certainly not scared of any of those situations, I think that opens the door for someone like Pittsburgh. The Penguins have been on fire to start the season with exactly six goals in three of their four games. The five skaters that make up the top power-play unit have combined for eight goals and 16 assists in those contests. Leading the way as expected is Sidney Crosby ($7,500) which is who I'm looking at here. Stack him for certainty with Jake Guentzel ($7,800) and from there look at one or two of Rickard Rakell ($5,100), Evgeni Malkin ($7,000), and Kris Letang ($6,300). Note that Guentzel left the Penguins' most recent game early, but he did travel with the team indicating he is likely to play, but that's something you'll want to keep an eye on. Rakell joins Crosby on the top line at even strength while Malkin and Letang are part of that lethal power play. The Penguins opponent on Saturday, the Blue Jackets, have allowed at least three goals in all five of their games this season.

Mid-Tier Stack to Target

Considering this one a mid-tier stack is a bit of a stretch, but that is where they fall in terms of pricing on this slate. The top line in Dallas of Roope Hintz ($6,000), Jason Robertson ($7,500), Joe Pavelski ($6,000), and defenseman Miro Heiskanen ($6,200) have combined for 40% of the team's goals so far this season and make for a great stack. The four of them are fully correlated at even strength and the power play, meaning they are always on the ice together, and that's the type of situations we like to look for in tournaments because when they have a night where they are scoring you are picking up assists left and right on top of the goals. The Stars are facing off against a Montreal team that has played fairly well to start the season but of which not much is expected, so this could be a good spot for them to regress a bit.

Cheap Stack to Build Around

As I touched on last week, finding cheap stacks are key in opening up room in the rest of your lineup to fit the high-priced top lines and skaters we typically need. I like both sides of the Kings-Capitals game as far as value, but I'll give the slight edge to the Los Angeles top line. Here we are getting Anze Kopitar ($4,400), Kevin Fiala ($5,300), and Adrian Kempe ($5,100) for a combined price tag under $15,000. That is nearly impossible to find for a fully correlated top line, top power play trio. When you consider you can also add in top defenseman Drew Doughty for just $4,500 as well, there is simply too much upside to ignore here at these prices.

Goalies

When it comes to goalies, I like to correlate mine with one of my stacks. For example, if playing Pittsburgh's top line with Los Angeles's top line, I'm likely going to play one of their goalies in that lineup. However, if you're looking to just pluck a one off, I'd consider Jake Oettinger ($8,000) who figures to get the start in Montreal and comes at a bit of a discount from the more obvious names on the slate.
