It is Thursday once again, so let's find some winning NHL props. There are 10 games on the schedule tonight, which is more than enough for us to find a few winners. I've taken my time to look over every matchup tonight, and I think I've found a few props that can win us some money. The research is done, the picks are in, and now it's time to watch some hockey!

Below, I highlight three player props that stood out to me for tonight's games. Our record this season stands at (9-3) after going (2-1) last Thursday, hopefully, we can sweep the board tonight!

Martin Necas – Over 2.5 Shots (-145)

Necas has started the year better than anyone could have expected. He is currently leading the Carolina Hurricanes in points, averaging well over a point per game, and I expect more of the same from him tonight. He has recorded 43 shots in 13 games this season, averaging 3.31 per game. Necas has recorded three or more shots in six straight games, averaging 4.33 shots per contest over that span. Throughout the season so far, Necas has averaged 6.15 shot attempts per game, which tells me he is getting plenty of opportunity to shoot. Necas and the Hurricanes are hosting the Edmonton Oilers tonight, who aren't known for their defense – the Oilers are allowing an average of 34.6 shots against per game, the fifth-most in the NHL. They are also shorthanded the ninth-most at just over six minutes per game. With how hot Necas has been, and how bad the Oilers are at suppressing shots, I see this as a good matchup for Necas to rack up the shots.

Rasmus Dahlin – Over 2.5 Shots (-137)

Dahlin and the Buffalo Sabres will be hosting the Vegas Golden Knights tonight. Jack Eichel will be making his second trip to Buffalo since he was traded to Vegas, and I'm sure the rink will be raucous just like the first game.

Dahlin has the fifth most shots by a defenseman in the NHL with 47 in 12 games, averaging 3.92 per game. He has recorded three or more shots in 10 of 12 games so far and hasn't recorded less than three in a home game yet this season. He is also tenth in the league for shot attempts by a defenseman with 73, for an average of 6.08 per game. I expect Dahlin to feed off the energy of Eichel's return and use that energy to continue his fantastic play.

Brock Nelson – Over 2.5 Shots (-154)

This pick has a lot to do with who Brock Nelson is playing: the Arizona Coyotes. Are the Coyotes off to a better start than anyone could have expected? Of course, they're only two points out of a playoff spot. But they are still showing that they are one of the worst teams defensively. They are allowing the second most shots against, averaging 36.7 shots against per game. One of the reasons they allow so many shots is because of how much time they spend in the penalty box. They are currently averaging 6:39 minutes of shorthanded time per game, the fourth-most in the NHL. Nelson already averages over three minutes per game on the powerplay, if the Coyotes don't stay out of the box that average will go up. Nelson is no slouch in the shot department either having recorded 43 shots in 14 games, averaging 3.07 per game. Considering that he has recorded three or more shots in seven of his last eight games, and how many shots the Coyotes allow, this seems like the perfect spot for Nelson to hit the over for us.
