Following the lead of my western counterpart this week, I’ll take a look at some players heading into their fourth NHL season and try to look into the near future to see if there might be some magic in their fourth NHL season.
While I was able to pop into the draft chat for a bit last Friday, I’ll be busy playing some old-time road hockey and quaffing cold bottles of beer during the Free-Agent chat…thus, I will have to leave the July 1 chat to more serious (and likely better informed) hockey fans.
But I didn’t want to completely ignore my duties, so I humbly present the 2010 NHL Free-Agency Day Drinking Game. It might be a relatively sparse year for free-agents, but that doesn’t mean the day can’t be fun!
Fantasy Impact: The Montreal Canadiens have traded winger Sergei Kostitsyn to the Nashville Predators for Dan Ellis and Dustin Boyd. Future considerations are also involved in the deal - basically, if a team signs a player, they give up a late round draft pick. All three players need a contract by July 1.

A few goalie tidbits. Kevin Lalande and Dan LaCosta were passed over for QO's, so it looks like Gustaf Wesslau might be the full-blown starter in Springfield. Not a lot of impactful events happened in the 2010 version of the NHL Entry Draft. Then again, it’s the little things that make a difference and there sure was a lot of tweaking, not to mention the draft picks themselves. Here are some of my initial thoughts…
