Working hard on the Fantasy Guide. It’s out on August 1 but you can always pre-order it. I’m about halfway through now. Two weeks to do the first half, eight days to do the second half. Just another year in Fantasy Guide Land. * Welcome to DobberHockey’s first annual Keeper Bubble Week. I took the [...]
My condolences and the condolences of this entire community go out to the family of Ray Emery, who passed away Sunday when he drowned while swimming in Hamilton. He had not yet turned 36 years old, my goodness. Emery had a friendly but fiery personality that was a welcome change from the usual blandness [...]
Here are the Top 50 defensemen to own in your points-only keeper league - July edition! This month the new draftees are in! This year's crop was heavier in terms of high-upside defensemen so they really made waves today (as opposed to the list of forwards posted Wednesday). As always, players within +/- 5.0 [...]

The New York Islanders have signed center Jan Kovar to a one-year deal worth $2 million. The Isles get: a 28-year-old with talent and upside, but who is a complementary player that requires solid linemates to put up the numbers. {source}

Jan Kovar's a good C, but his production could be [...]
Ramblings: Karlsson, Strome, Maroon, Ennis, a Sharks prospect and more (July 9) *** I always stress to fantasy owners – never hold onto a prospect you hope will be as good as Player X, if you can actually use him to get Player X. This applies to the real-world case of Erik Karlsson. Dallas should [...]

The August edition will be fully audited with proper short-term projections entered into my template, proper lineups put in, etc. For this edition, I added in the best drafted players from [...]

I really like the Robin Lehner signing for the Islanders (Mike breaks it down with his thoughts here, which I agree with). The Isles have two of the best goaltending prospects in all of hockey with Ilya Sorokin and Linus Soderstrom, but neither will be available this season and likely not next year either. So [...]
The Carolina Hurricanes have signed defenseman Calvin de Haan to a four-year contract worth $18.2 million. The Hurricanes get: probably the best two-way defenseman on the free agent market, but also the most injury prone. Were it not for said injuries, we could be talking about a completely different de Haan right now as [...]
