 CUJO

If you haven’t heard by now, Curtis Joseph is on the prowl for a team to join for the rest of the season and there’s actually a number of organizations interested in the wily veteran’s services. Considering his recent success with Team Canada at the Spengler Cup and the stability he brought to the Phoenix Coyotes last season, Cujo’s stock is actually quite high right now. Add to it his ability to bring solid insurance in net and he has become very appealing to teams that desperately need a veteran presence as the playoff race starts to heat up.

Ty Conklin

Hundreds of minor league goalies can spend their entire career in a tireless fight for the elusive opportunity to become the next diamond in the rough. Then there are others that finally reach their penultimate goal of starting an NHL game, but like a dream, it lasts just one night and dissolves in a rude awakening when they are quickly demoted back to a place they really don’t want to be.

Ray Emery

Ray Emery is quite the troubled soul these days. His tirade at the end of Thursday’s pre-game skate followed by a lame excuse for being late to Friday’s practice was, to put it lightly, very childish. The fact that Senators head coach John Paddock sent him home from the rink sulking like a disappointed pre-teen schoolgirl instead of a pro hockey player is just another nail in his coffin. The organization has simply had enough of Emery’s absurd antics and if he isn’t careful he’ll go right off the deep end into NHL anonymity.

Vesa Toskala

Vesa Toskala and Tomas Vokoun were so close to being on opposite teams that Saturday’s game between Florida and Toronto was a great way to look at which team made the better move. Yet in a league where goalies get tossed around in the offseason more often than Paris Hilton in a Hollywood nightclub, there were many other goalies that either team could have signed, which opens up a myriad of different possible outcomes.
