Maybe this vote of confidence is a kiss of death, but John Tortorella said officially that Joonas Korpisalo has solidified himself as the go-to starter for the Blue Jackets. I think Columbus has showed well here early in the season, the problem with wins will come from goal scoring, because they still haven’t figured [...]
The update on Mikko Rantanen was about as good as Colorado fans and Rantanen fantasy owners could reasonably hope for. Right now, the timeline for return is 4-6 weeks and he’s being considered week-to-week, but the team said they won’t know the full extent of the injury for a few days yet. We’ll know [...]
The big news for Monday was that the Flyers had called up Joel Farabee, one of their top prospects. He slotted on the third line with Kevin Hayes and Scott Laughton, while finding himself on the top power-play unit. What’s more is that he was immediately slotted into the bumper role on the top [...]
One of the fun things about following sports is the conversations with other fans. Whether it’s comparing stars, teams, prospects, whatever, the conversations are what keep it fun. For years, we’ve been wondering when someone would come along to take the mantle from Sidney Crosby. It looks like that the mantle belongs to Connor [...]
Jacob Markstrom was granted a leave of absence by the team in order to attend to a family matter. Best wishes to Markstrom and his family He is expected to rejoin the team later this week. The Canucks have four games this week including a back-to-back this weekend. Now, if Markstrom does rejoin the [...]
Tampa Bay looked… ok?... through their first few games. And then Brayden Point returned, slotting on the top line with Steven Stamkos and Nikita Kucherov. I think most people would expect Point to have at least a little bit of rust to his game, not being sure how he and the line would fare [...]
As it’s been for much of the start of the season in Buffalo, it was the Top Line Show on Wednesday night against the Habs. Jack Eichel combined for three points (2+1) while Victor Olofsson scored his fourth power-play goal of the season and Sam Reinhart picked up a PP assist. Just as a [...]
Bad news came for Evgeni Malkin, the Penguins, their fans, and fantasy owners as the star centre is expected to miss significant time with his injury from the weekend. The team hasn’t elaborated yet on what the injury is (beyond a lower-body one) or what the timeframe for a return might be, so we’re [...]
It was the first day of the 2019-20 NHL season so there are games to talk about, but there is still news to discuss. I’ve been pretty vocal in saying I don’t believe that Pavel Buchnevich lasts the year, or anywhere close to it, on the top line, but he is skating with Zibanejad/Panarin [...]
There was quite a bit of news as we gear up for the season so let’s get to it. Monday was a big day for waivers as teams were paring down their rosters to get under the cap and to the roster limit by Tuesday afternoon. Now, remember, that anyone claimed today would have [...]
