It was announced on Thursday that PA Parenteau would be retiring. The now-35-year-old Parenteau could not find a home to play in the NHL in 2017-18 and given the league’s propensity for infrequently providing contracts for players of his age in this era, the writing was on the wall. Parenteau’s hockey career is one of [...]
Just a heads up that fellow Dobber writer and editor Cam Robinson will be releasing his draft rankings today. Cam puts in a lot of work to follow all the players you need to know for your dynasty drafts and I would very much recommend checking out his work. You can view his Twitter feed [...]
The Vancouver Canucks announced an injury to prospect defenceman Olli Juolevi. The release reads as if he suffered a lower-back injury while training. There has been no further updates for a recovery timeline but we will provide one when one is given. The 20-year old defenceman is expected to be a pillar of the Canucks [...]
For the first time in franchise history, the Washington Capitals played in a game that could clinch them the Stanley Cup. Also for the first time in franchise history, the Vegas Golden Knights were facing elimination. One way or another, we were getting history on Thursday night. The game started as maybe expected: prime scoring [...]
It appears Sean Monahan’s recovery from multiple surgeries is going as planned, according to NHL.com. It’s nice to hear there haven’t been any setbacks for the Calgary centre and that he should be ready to go when the team hits the ice for training camp in a few months. In general, I’m wary of drafting [...]
Over at Dobber Prospects, Cam Robinson compared centres available in the 2018 Entry Draft. This draft, as Cam notes, is littered with high-end wingers and defencemen, particularly at the very top. For those in dynasty leagues that may have rookie drafts in the next month or so, it’s worth looking at Cam’s centres comparison. Despite [...]
With the season winding down, aside from the amazing Cup Final we have on our hands obviously, the focus shifts to prospects and the draft. Lucky for everyone reading this, we have an incredible team of writers covering prospects from all over the globe. To that end, today is the day the Prospect Report is [...]
Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final had a lot to live up to following the standard set by Game 1 and it came pretty close to doing so. These two teams are developing a genuine dislike and it’s starting to show. To kick things off we had a James Neal goal nearing the middle [...]
This Cup Final is one that has something for everyone. The expansion team from a non-traditional market where the fans have showed up from Game One of the regular season and made it *their* team and the team that was perennial contenders only to always flame out. Loads of skill on both sides bundled with [...]
Now that we have a few days off until the Stanley Cup Final – it’s still sinking in that we have a Vegas-Washington matchup – it’s probably a good time to go through some playoff performances. * If there were any doubt that Brayden Point played over his head during his sophomore year, all those [...]
