DobberHockey reader Justin sent me his team to be audited. Upon first glance, I wondered why he was asking about the likes of Nigel Williams and Keith Aucoin, until I saw the size of rosters in this league (60). I find a bench of five or six is more than sufficient, so needless to say this was an interesting audit to conduct.
I have found it difficult to make trades in my own fantasy hockey leagues since joining the DobberHockey crew full-time over two years ago. I share my thoughts on sleepers, overrated players, and my favourite players/prospects with all of you on a daily basis. When I propose a trade in any of my leagues, my potential trading partner is usually quick to check out the site to see what I have said in the past about the player(s) I am inquiring about.
However, I managed to pull the trigger on a very interesting deal yesterday in my favourite league. It is a head-to-head league with many DobberHockey veterans, and I finished fourth out of 12 last year (my first year in the league after taking over a pretty decent roster).
Today I analyzed a team sent to me by Robert, who is lucky enough to have Russ "The Comish" Miller in his league (unsurprisingly, Russ is the league commisioner). Robert's team won the league last year, but he is now faced with a few difficult keeper decisions.
I am constantly receiving e-mails, tweets, and messages on the DobberHockey forums asking for trade advice. It is always good to get a second (and third) opinion, as there are many biases that can cloud your ability to accurately evaluate a potential transaction.
Audits will be coming in rapid succession over the next few weeks, so keep checking the site to see if your team gets covered! I am not accepting any more submissions at the moment, but check back as October approaches, I have a few ideas with regards to the audits that I will be sharing at that time.
Today I’ll take a look at the extremely talented young roster sent to me by DobberHockey reader Adam M.
I first mentioned the concept of the “it factor” way back in December of 2007. I saw something special in New Jersey winger Zach Parise, who was on his way to scoring 32 goals that season. His big offensive breakout came only one season later in 2008-09, when he led New Jersey with 45 goals and 94 points. Like Parise, Edmonton Oiler Jordan Eberle possesses the “it factor.”
Angus was on the Team 1040 this past Sunday. Listen to what he had to say...
With The Current State of Predators Goaltending being pushed back another week due to the free agent frenzy and my annual summer tournament here in Colorado,I wanted to quickly provide you with some fantasy advice pertaining to Mark Dekanich’s bid for the backup job.
Blades of Steel is an iconic video game classic. It is also the name of the league that the team I audited participates in. What is the course of action recommended for a team with fantastic depth at defense, stability in goal, and a few holes up front? Read on to find out!
Are you wondering what your plan of attack should be this summer? Preparing for a draft? Upset about some trades you made in the past? I’ll weigh in with my thoughts on the interesting and important issues.
Today I’ll be taking a look at the team submitted to me by DobberHockey reader Ryan D.
