If you follow junior hockey, then you probably already know the latest must-know news in CHL circles – former head coach of the Windsor Spitfires, Bob Boughner, has signed on as the newest assistant coach with the Columbus Blue Jackets (and if you love junior hockey, but don’t know what I’m talking about, then get familiar with Neate Sager’s Buzzing the Net blog at Yahoo! If there was one subject I loved more than any other in high school and college, it was world and state history. Whether it was the fight for the Alamo or the Civil War, not a day went by where I didn't ponder a country or society’s fight for independence. There are several players who will likely end up on different teams for the 2010-11 season still out there – Ilya Kovalchuk, Tomas Kaberle, Kevin Bieksa, Simon Gagne, Marc Savard, and potentially even Bobby Ryan. There are also a few interesting young players that I want to talk a bit about in more detail.
I’ll go into a bit of depth on a fantasy issue or two pertaining to each of the 30 NHL clubs.
Keep it locked in to DobberHockey all day. Why? Instant fantasy analysis on every single trade and signing. Jeff Angus will share his thoughts on all moves made by Western Conference teams. Dobber will do the same for the Eastern Conference. Justin Goldman is going to keep an eye on the goaltending situation all [...]
While I was able to pop into the draft chat for a bit last Friday, I’ll be busy playing some old-time road hockey and quaffing cold bottles of beer during the Free-Agent chat…thus, I will have to leave the July 1 chat to more serious (and likely better informed) hockey fans.
But I didn’t want to completely ignore my duties, so I humbly present the 2010 NHL Free-Agency Day Drinking Game. It might be a relatively sparse year for free-agents, but that doesn’t mean the day can’t be fun!
First of all thanks to all the ones who showed up during the NHL Draft live chat powered by DobberHockey, it was truly a great experience.
But what to say about the draft? Well, the first round went very well, from a Russian point of view, with three players drafted, Alexander Burmistrov (Atlanta Thrashers), Vladimir Tarasenko (St. Louis Blues) and Evgeny Kuznetsov (Washington Capitals).
