Every Thursday you can get the latest fantasy take for your salary cap league via the mind of Andrew Santillo.
We’re closing in on one of the most exciting dates of the season for fantasy owners, the trade deadline. Players can switch fantasy teams faster than Alex Galchenyuk in the days leading up to the deadline. If you think NHL teams can make mistakes at a deadline, they have nothing on fantasy owners. As exciting [...]
In September of 2016 I was given my start in hockey writing by Dobber, and from my first Capped article to today, I feel like the team here has helped me grow a lot. Luckily, Logan Doyle (formerly penning the Geek of the Week) is taking over the Capped column from me and I know [...]
As a fantasy manager, I don’t think I have ever owned Teuvo Teravainen. I never fully bought into the upside, and then once he had broken out, he was never productive enough for me outside of hits that there were always players I liked better in trades and drafting. As a result, he’s a player [...]
A few days ago, I received a message from a reader asking me about when it makes sense to cut bait on an unproductive rookie in a keeper league. I didn’t have a quick answer and said that it would be something that would need a much deeper look, so that’s what is going to [...]

The Top 200 Cap League Skater rankings are a pet project of mine that I started in 2019, and though the rankings are constantly evolving, some of the results continue to surprise me. The latest iteration (linked at the beginning) was published on Monday. This week I’m going to dive into a few unexpected players [...]
We have a week in the books and that means it’s time to start sending trade offers to your fellow GMs to see who you can steal away while they panic about a bad first three games. Since this is the Capped section, we’re going to focus on players who are also in a contract [...]
The NHL season is underway with last night’s games being the first regular season games in 10 months! I sincerely hope that this is done properly and as safely as possible, but I also just can’t wipe the smile off my face that we have live NHL games again. With the addition of the taxi [...]
Week Seven is done and that means Week Eight (the final week) is upon us. Let’s stick to your new year’s resolutions of only making good decisions for your fantasy teams. To help with that, we have the last group of players to look into buying and selling. This week we’re covering Buffalo, Boston, Arizona, [...]
Week Six is in the books just like the entire year of 2020. Let’s hope that tomorrow, and all of 2021 are better on a global scale. For the things that matter just a smidge less, I hope it’s a good year for your fantasy teams too. To help with that, we have some more [...]
