Fantasy Hockey Top 10

Every postseason, there’s a group of players who exceed expectations, which in turn inflates their value in fantasy hockey. Last year, for example, a strong playoff performance helped increase the value of players of all skill levels, from Braden Holtby to Tomas Hertl to Lars Eller. This year is no different. There are plenty [...]

This year’s UFA class could be a bit of a strange one. As I mentioned in the comments of my top 10 column last week, there is such a bevy of great RFAs, that many of the UFAs will be overlooked. I believe teams will be looking to take care of their RFAs first, [...]

I’m sure this gets said every year, but this summer’s bevy of restricted free agents looks to be one of the deepest and most star-studded in a long time. After all, when was the last time we saw four 80-point players under the age of 24 all hit restricted free agency in the same summer? [...]

A lot of attention is paid to defensemen in fantasy leagues that can help contribute to peripheral categories. And with good reason. It’s these guys who will lead your squad to victory thanks to blocked shots, hits, PIM and shots. It’s why Dustin Byfuglien and Kris Letang are drafted so high: Their ability to [...]

Every year normally sees [...]

Every year during fantasy drafts and trade negotiations, bounce-back candidates are one of the most popular types of players to focus on. We all like a good rebound story. These are players coming off a down year and we are expecting things to go back to the good old days. You figure you can [...]

Opportunities. That’s what it takes for a player to have a successful year. Every player on this list had their opportunities this past season, whether it be on the power play, getting top-six minutes or finally getting a chance to play with elite linemates. Last week, we used a basic math formula to figure out [...]

Expectations. That one word sums up everything to do with fantasy hockey. Did the players you drafted/traded for live up to your expectations? If the majority of them did, you are probably celebrating a championship right now. If they didn’t, odds are you are in draft lottery. Listed below are 10 players that didn’t [...]

We may be a week away from the playoffs starting, but many of us are already gearing up for our playoff hockey pools. I mean, what better way to avenge your wretched fantasy season by dominating a playoff hockey pool? Most fantasy hockey pools will be taking place this upcoming weekend, most likely on [...]
