Everything You Need to Know

This will be a must-read for all playoff poolies, as I’ll break down everything you pretty much need to know about each of the Western Conference matchups.

This will be a must-read for all playoff poolies, as I’ll break down everything you pretty much need to know about each of the Western Conference matchups.

Breaking down each quarterfinal match-up. Included in these reports - injury news, fantasy predictions, and of course my overall prediction.
As the group, the DobberHockey Crew has put together a 22-8 record over the last two postseasons. Individually, our success has varied from person to person. Average it out and what you have is as strong a prognosticator as you will find. Here are the individual and averaged predicitions for the first round of the NHL playoffs.
Last night while reflecting on the regular season as a whole, I realized that it was just that...a regular season. There were too many horrible outings from too many goalies, especially by Chris Osgood, Peter Budaj, Cristobal Huet and Carey Price. Yep, the list of “bad outings” includes just about everyone at some point or another.

Welcome to the final audit of the 2008-09 season for Dobberhockey and for my fantasy hockey blog over at Hockey Analysis. We’ll be picking this up again soon though, I just don’t think that there’s going to be anything until after June’s draft or so. Whoa - based on last week’s performance I certainly shouldn’t quit the day job. Thunder continued her winning ways going 6-5 and now has amassed a 42-35 record on the year; eat your heart out Maggie the Monkey. We don’t need to get into specifics about how my week went, let’s just say that the highlight was choosing the NYI as winners... pathetic!!
Anyway, barring a miracle this week Thunder pretty much has this wrapped up. Look at her stoic face just beaming with hockey wisdom, maybe someday it could be me haha. Anyways, it’s a busy final Saturday with 13 games on the schedule, with lots of matinee games and a handful of meaningless tilts as teams look to start booking their tee times. Perhaps teams should hire professional golf cart drivers this summer to avoid players blowing out their knees while trying to apply that pesky parking brake...
Now that the season is all but over, I thought it would be fun to go back and look over my draft list and see how my predictions fared. I’ll warn you now; my predictions tend to fall on the conservative side. Below is a cross-section of players from the Eastern Conference that I was wrong about in my forecasting:
