By |2022-10-26T18:01:39-04:00October 26th, 2022|The Dobotomy|

Here we go again. A new NHL season has begun, and what does that mean? Our fantasy hockey teams are back in action! And also, for some reason, there are new Twitter NHL hashtags to memorize. I don't get it either. Why not stick to an easy-to-remember hashtag that fans will never forget? Keep them [...]

By |2022-10-06T00:37:53-04:00October 6th, 2022|The Dobotomy|

With the puck about to drop on the 2022-23 season, our writers weigh in on their predictions for both player and team awards and accomplishments.  Brief observations: Some of the experts made some out-of-the-box picks for award winners, but the majority seemed to play it safe. As you might expect, Connor McDavid is projected for [...]

By |2022-09-26T09:30:34-04:00September 26th, 2022|The Dobotomy|

Free hockey pool player boxes, for those who would like to run simple pools at the office... Western Conference Outlook – Part 2

By |2022-09-14T14:37:26-04:00September 16th, 2022|The Dobotomy|

This is the fourth and final installment of my bold and too-early predictions for the NHL season. Just before Labor Day, I saw that there were no real playoff predictions yet, and thought I would get in my prognostications before the floodgates opened. Let others pick me apart afterwards. My first three entries are here, [...]

Western Conference Outlook – Part 1

By |2022-09-10T15:43:36-04:00September 13th, 2022|The Dobotomy|

Just as the Eastern Conference saw many teams add key players over the off-season, the Western half of the NHL isn’t looking like the same 16 teams that started out last season. 2021 saw the Colorado Avalanche win Lord Stanley’s Cup, Connor McDavid’s team (finally) win two playoff rounds, and the Vegas Golden Knights miss [...]

By |2022-09-08T14:11:58-04:00September 10th, 2022|The Dobotomy|

This is my second article predicting the final 2022-23 NHL standings. Who’s in, who’s not. Obviously, I have no fear of sticking my neck out, as my Daily Fantasy plays have taught me that the safe options rarely pay. The first article, teams #16 - #9, is here. These are my playoff teams, each with [...]

The draft and free agent frenzy are now beyond even the rearview mirror, and we’re looking forward to October and the 2022-23 season.  Every year, the expert prognosticators go at this from the top down, picking the new Stanley Cup champs and the playoff-worthy challengers.    I’m going to do this in reverse, and add one [...]
