Penguins add Paul Martin

Fantasy Impact: The Pittsburgh Penguins have signed Paul Martin to a five-year deal worth $25 million.
The Pens get: an underrated PP quarterback. Martin was having a huge second half in 2008-09 and was unable to build on that in 2010-11 thanks to a terrible wrist injury. He could be coming off a 55-point season, but we’ll never know thanks to that injury. Now, in Pittsburgh, they get him just in time – at 29, he’s a year past when a typical d-man breaks out. But we know why he’s a year late…
Fantasy Players Impacted: This is devestating to Kris Letang and Alex Goligoski owners. They just had what looked to be a nice break with the Zbynek Michalek signing, but the Pens managed to find more in their budget for Martin. He’ll eat both of their PP ice time – and coach Dan Bylsma will play the hot hand on the top PP.
