With the third DFS Saturday of the season on tap and many teams having played eight or more games, we’re starting to get a bit of a feel on how teams are looking with so many new faces in new places each season. We’re not even a 1/10th of the way through the season though, [...]
Yesterday I listed the names of some slumping Ducks, courtesy of the Frozen Tools Cold Players list. Well, you can add one more game for these players’ slumps, with the Ducks getting shut out by Vegas. The name that seems to be of the most interest is John Klingberg, who is now without a point [...]
So far this season it feels like every night there’s a surprise line or player on each slate. The standings also look, well, not as we pictured and although it’s early here in the season, the Eastern Conference just seems wide open. There’s a lot to go over, so let’s dive in!The Immediate Fix (Grab [...]
It could be just my leagues, but it seems like this season I am seeing more people cut bait with established players early on. Players who are cold for sure, but who we had some expectations of going into the season. For this week we are going to spend some time on cold players and [...]
Earlier than originally projected (but maybe not because he’s a fast healer), Brad Marchand made his season debut on Thursday. He didn’t disappoint, scoring two goals and adding an assist with four shots in a 5-1 win over Detroit. Marchand’s ADP on Yahoo was 117, so the early return means that he could provide some [...]
It’s the last big weekday slate of the week, and it’s time to find some winning prop bets. There are 10 games on the NHL slate tonight, which gives us plenty of options when searching for prop bets. It can be a little time-consuming to study every matchup, but it needs to be done to [...]
Happy Halloween! First, my “costume” for this past Tuesday, as an NHL prognosticator, didn’t win any contest but wasn’t totally torn in half either. Marc-Andre Fleury shined in Montreal (26 saves on 27 shots, 0.963 Sv%), and while neither Artemi Panarin nor Aleksander Barkov found the scoresheet, they totaled 12 shots on goal, so the [...]
Last week I discussed some of the bigger injuries that were occurring in the NHL and how you could take advantage of their injuries. This week we shall be looking at some of the bigger surprises that the NHL has seen so far, this upcoming season. Every season we have some players who are seemingly [...]
Being surprised by an early result is a response to expectations. What a person – in this case yours truly – expected to happen in the first few weeks of the season is directly related to what they were expecting to happen. In that sense, whether this is a surprise to each reader depends on [...]
Here we go again. A new NHL season has begun, and what does that mean? Our fantasy hockey teams are back in action! And also, for some reason, there are new Twitter NHL hashtags to memorize. I don't get it either. Why not stick to an easy-to-remember hashtag that fans will never forget? Keep them [...]
