Jason Robertson is listed as week-to-week with a lower-body injury, making him unavailable for Game 1 against Colorado today. Robertson left Wednesday’s game with the injury – a game that was the Stars’ last game of the season. As much as resting star (Star) players inconveniences fantasy teams, this scenario is the argument for load [...]
Neal Pionk has signed a six-year, $42 million extension to remain in Winnipeg. Pionk was set to become a UFA after the season, so one potential UFA d-man has now come off the board. During his six seasons with the Jets, Pionk has been a remarkably consistent blueliner fantasy-wise, reaching at least 30 points every [...]
Welcome back to Goldipucks and the Three Skaters, a play on words of the Goldilocks and the Three Bears story. Instead of there being three bowls of porridge though, I cover three skaters and declare one too hot (i.e., doing unsustainably better than he should), another too cold (i.e., doing unsustainably worse), and a third [...]
There are only two days left in the regular season, and a few teams are already done. For those of us still fighting for our lives in a couple of leagues, there are still 13 games left to be played, six tonight and seven on Thursday, with Detroit and Carolina both playing on back-to-back nights. [...]
This is the second part of our series looking at young players who could play 60 games (25 games for goalies) or more with the big club in 2025-26. Since we reviewed the first eight teams in the Western Conference for part one, we are going to look at the next eight teams (Nashville to [...]
In this week’s Top 10, I’m looking at 10 players who showed a stronger version of themselves this season compared to last. Some of these names were popular bounce-back picks and some were not. For the most part, they delivered in one way or another. One name you will not see here is Alex Ovechkin, [...]
Alex Ovechkin was the most prominent player among non-injured players not in the lineup on Saturday. I haven’t discussed load management at all in my recent Ramblings because I haven’t noticed it come up significantly until now. At this point, a player like Ovechkin resting adds fuel to the argument that fantasy hockey leagues should [...]
Alexander Nikishin is coming to the NHL, mutually terminating his KHL contract with SKA St. Petersburg and then signing a two-year, entry-level deal with Carolina. Due to a lengthy process that could involve obtaining a Canadian visa as well as a US visa, Nikishin’s debut is expected to be in the first round of the [...]
Welcome to another week in the injury ward. First and foremost, I want to congratulate Alex Ovechkin on his amazing achievement Sunday as he had the entire hockey world on the edge of their seats. The fantasy and real-life season is wrapping up so let us jump right into this week’s edition and see what [...]
There’s not a whole lot of advice or info we can give you at this point to help with the rest of the fantasy season, as we’re in the last week and it’s likely just at the point of setting and watching your team do all the work now. What I will note, is that [...]
