Kyle Okposo

The New York Islanders’ brass have been quick to tell anyone who will listen that blue-chip prospect Kyle Okposo should not be compared to Jarome Iginla. “It’s far too early”, they say.

You know what that tells me, as a keeper-league owner? I should be comparing his upside to Jarome Iginla. Thank you for the measuring stick, Mr. Nolan and Mr. Snow.

Happy Easter! Abbreviated Ramblings today. As a Kristian Huselius owner, I can't wait until he gets out of Calgary. He played 6:03 on Thursday and just 6:32 last night. He is useless with Keenan coaching him - do NOT pick him in your playoff pool. Sidney Crosby is thinking that a return on Monday is quite possible. [...]

Both Ed Jovanovski and Martin Hanzal will be back in the lineup tonight.  Tim Connolly will undergo hip surgery to remove bone spurs. He is done for the season. Barry Trotz has had about enough of Mason and Ellis and so the team recalled Pekka Rinne. Rinne leads the AHL in wins this season and has [...]

It has been a lot of fun putting this team together. As much as we all love fantasy hockey, there is more to the game than just stats. There are obviously some high scoring players that made my squad, but it was not solely for their point-producing abilities. Intangibles, such as determination, teamwork, and hockey IQ also played a large factor. There will be a few surprises on this squad I am sure, and hopefully it sparks some debate over at the DobberHockey forums. Read on to see the full line-up, and below is a comprehensive breakdown of each line, pairing, and goaltender. Enjoy!

Widely known as the worst division in the NHL, it’s sometimes jokingly called the South Least Division. Well don’t look now, but the top three teams in the South East Division may have the last laugh. All three are among the hottest teams in the Eastern Conference right now. No respect I tell ya.

Blair Betts underwent foot surgery and will be out 2-3 weeks. That is of no significance in itself, but it will get a hungry Petr Prucha back in the lineup.  Coming soon: news on Dobber's Ultimate Playoff Pool. 1000-2000 entrants, 18 players, FREE to enter. Great prizes to be announced. This is Dobber's way of weeding [...]

Last week we looked at the top five NHL players who got paid the most for having the least impact on fantasy leagues this season. This week we will look at the top five players who do a great deal for fantasy leagues who are making pennies compared to what the players from last week were making. All salaries have been taken from the website www.nhlscap.com.
