From Fluto Shinzawa's Bruins Blog: Marc Savard hopes to practice with his teammates tomorrow after skating on his own for approximately 15 minutes. "Hopefully I'm going to see action right away," said Savard, hinting at a Game 1 return from his back injury. "I've been doing everything I can. I've been resting on the couch. I've been resting every day."

Boston forward Patrice Bergeron has been cleared for full contact in practice. He will need a minimum of seven days before he can return.

Saku Koivu (fractured bone in foot) believes that he will return to the lineup in time to play Game 1. We shall see.

Minnesota rearguard Nick Schultz will miss the first round – and likely the second – after undergoing an emergency appendectomy last night. Petteri Nummelin will step into his spot in the lineup.

Sergei Zubov is back working out with his teammates. He had sports hernia surgery, yet the Stars have some kind of pipe-dream that he could return some time in the first round. Don't look for that unless Dallas gets down three games to two.

Tampa Bay won the draft lottery, so they will get the first pick. To take a look at Matt Bugg's predictions for the upcoming draft, click here.

The Senators believe (hope?) that Chris Kelly can come back to the lineup by Game 3 or 4. He had a hairline fracture in his right leg.

The Denver Post is reporting that Jordan Leopold will be a victim of the numbers game, likely sitting in the press box to start the playoffs.

Anaheim, who is thought to have to decide between Doug Weight, Bobby Ryan and Ryan Carter as far as who to scratch each game, will probably sit Weight first.

Karel Pilar has signed to play in the RSL.

Some big names that have been sent to join their AHL teams in the playoff run: Bryan Little (ATL), Joakim Lindstrom (CBJ), Gilbert Brule (CBJ), Hannu Toivonen (STL)

The Devils plan to send Dainius Zubrus out to play against Jaromir Jagr. Do not expect Zubrus in an offensive role at all.

New Jersey recalled Barry Tallackson yesterday. Do not expect any points from Tallackson.

Philadelphia plays their first game on Friday. Daniel Briere (knee) will be in the lineup. Derian Hatcher (broken leg) will not, but is getting closer.
