According to Jim Gintonio's Blog , Daniel Carcillo is shooting for 40 points and half the penalty minutes next season (the low 200s if he plays the full season). Gintonio is also reporting that Radim Vrbata's agent is having contract talks with Phoenix. If he signs anywhere else, all bets are off. His value is in [...]

The Carolina Hurricanes have agreed to terms with right wing Sergei Samsonov on a three-year, $7.6 million contract. This is the best-case scenario for Samsonov owners and he is probably good for 65 points next season, +/- five points.  Patrice Bergeron was not cleared to play Sunday and the doctors will not reconsider the decision [...]

As I sit in front of the computer sipping a celebratory beer typing this review, I find myself reminiscing about how I ended up here. Of course I had a good draft and a little luck along the way. A lack of serious injuries and the early pick ups of free agents Pascal Leclaire, Chris Osgood and Mike Green were instrumental in my success.

With Iowa eliminated, Dallas recalled Chris Conner and James Neal, among others. Conner may see action if a player gets hurt. David Legwand returned the the NSH lineup and played 16:16, going plus-3 and scoring a goal. Rob Niedermayer may not play tonight due to an "upper body injury". Gary Roberts missed yesterday's contest with a sore groin.  Bruce Garrioch in the Ottawa Sun is reporting that not only will Jason Spezza play, but Daniel Alfredsson will return to the lineup as well.   Keep an eye on this player. Another high-scoring winger in the Phoenix organization, Chad Kolarik, has signed an entry-level deal. He was third in NCAA scoring last season. He ranks [...]

Dallas Stars

TSN is reporting that the Canucks are close to signing Fabian Brunnstrom. Other teams in the mix (my opinion only): Detroit, Toronto, Ottawa, Boston. Brunnstrom will likely debut with 50-60 points for a couple of years before he starts rattling off 70 points a year. Do not overrate his upside because one columnist mentioned his [...]
