TSN is reporting that Fabian Brunnstrom has signed with Dallas, choosing them over Toronto, Detroit, and Montreal. This could hurt Loui Eriksson's chances of a permanent spot in the top six. With Ribeiro, Morrow, Richards, Lehtinen, Modano, Eriksson, Brunnstrom all in the mix now, this team will be even more offensive next year. I still say put Brunnstrom down for 55 points.

It turns out Jeff Halpern also has a sprained MCL and the doctors would like him to take five weeks to heal that before they operated on the torn ACL, meaning he will not be ready until November or possibly December. Brandon Dubinsky has arrived in Halifax and will replace Halpern at the WHC.

The Dallas Morning News is reporting that both Philippe Boucher and Stu Barnes are doubtful for tonight's Game 1 contest.

Claude Giroux is not with the Flyers because his QMJHL team is still alive in the Final. In fact, Giroux has 48 playoff points which is a Gatineau club record.

The Thrashers lost a pair of depth veterans when Joel Kwiatkowski and Jason Krog both signed to play in the RSL next season.

The Islanders signed Robin Figren to a three-year entry-level deal yesterday. Figren is ranked 280 on my prospects list.

Max Talbot did not practice with the team yesterday and will likely miss tomorrow's contest with his broken foot.

Valterri Filppulla was back skating yesterday. He has a leg injury, but it looks like he will go tonight.
