The following players elected to go to salary arbitration: Antoine Vermette (OTT), Jay Bouwmeester (FLA), Brooks Laich (WAS), Shaone Morrisonn (WAs), Pierre-Marc Bouchard and Stephane Veilleux (MIN), Dennis Wideman (BOS), Marek Svatos (COL), Dan Fritsche (NYR), Marcel Goc (SJ) and Ville Koistinen (NSH). The players will definitely have contracts in the fall – no holdouts, which is a good thing for their fantasy owners.
The Pens signed Matt Cooke to a two-year contract. He and Max Talbot will work well together on the third line.
