I see a pattern. This should be a good week. I’m going by gut feeling this week and I’ll give you my predictions in Pro-Line format also.
Starting today, December 5, the St. Louis Blues play five games in seven nights including two sets of back to back games. The first three games are at home starting with the Flames and Coyotes in back-to-back games. They get one day's rest before the Predators visit and then they play back-to-back games on the road in Anaheim and Los Angeles. Playing five games in a one week time doesn't happen very often - only twelve times during the regular season although it happens to the Blues twice.
Sean Avery was handed a six-game suspension, including the two he has already missed. No word yet on Dallas' reaction. Avery is also to undergo anger management counselling. TJ Oshie will be back in the lineup tonight for the Blues. He practiced with Perron and Berglund. Brian Rolston's return last night cut into Dainius Zubrus' power-play time. I [...]
We’ve see approximately a third of the 2008-09 NHL season completed at this point, so it’s a good time to take a step back, break down some statistics, and see what kind of anomalies have occurred so far this season.
If you bought my Prospects Report you would already know all about this guy. In fact, I touted him in the Fantasy Guide as well. Sami Lepisto is a promising offensive defenseman and he has three points in four games for the Caps since his call up. Curtis Glencross, 25, has 10 points in his last [...]
The 07/08 Midseason Guide Special is over. I may do it one more time for a day some time during December. Brett Hull interview, live just after 12 noon ET right here on FAN590 Start activating and acquiring those Hurricanes - Peter Laviolette has been fired and Paul Maurice is back in as Carolina's head [...]
If you can remember way back when you were a kid in primary school, your teacher taught you a very valuable lesson in life, what goes up must come down and what is down will eventually come back up. Sure, it might have been for a science lesson or an outcome from your first creative way of attempting to fly, but that lesson still holds true today. We’ll just have to apply the same concept to fantasy hockey. For the past four weeks, we covered goalies, defensemen, wingers and centers while examining team-by-team who is primed for fantasy success and who is due for a fall in the coming weeks. As a bonus installment we will look at a whole team approach this week.
Hear ye! Hear ye! All hail our new Malking!
In a shocking turn of events, December brings us a new leader of the DobberHockey fantasy realm. Evgeni Malkin is the new most valuable fantasy hockey player.
With the injury-prone Sanford fighting back spasms per Angus' note below, I think we'll see a lot of Cory Schneider - and once he proves himself, I think we'll keep seeing him even when Sanford returns. All he needs are two straight starts. He only stopped 15 of 18 shots last night - but he [...]
