The Price is Right (Come on Down!)

I used to love watching The Price is Right when I was growing up. I mean the old school Bob Barker Price is Right none of this new school Drew Carey mumbo jumbo. I always loved how Rod Roddy would announce the competitors down to contestant’s row and they get to make their bids. They make their bids while you yell at the tv as loud as you could thinking 'you IDIOT'! This trade deadline is going to be very much of the same. Fantasy pundits like us will be doing that very thing in the forum, yelling and b****ing at the crazy trades, or praising the great moves that benefits both teams. This week we’ll take a look at all the Western Conference teams and further analyze who is a buyer/seller and which players are potentially gearing up for a new uniform. I’ve also thrown in a few of my own trades that would make sense for both teams.

March Madness is in the air and for most of you that means fantasy league playoffs start in just a few short weeks. That being said, the chaotic mayhem known as “jockeying for position” has taken over the lands. Leashes are the shortest ever as drastic times call for drastic measures. Do you need one last miracle acquisition to push you into the post-season? Do you need one more piece of trade bait in order to land the big fish you’ve been seeking all year?

The Thrashers have traded Havelid to the Devils for Salmela. Analysis on the home page.  The NHL suspended Steve Ott for one game, which has already been served so he will be back next contest.  Angus here with some Monday morning/afternoon tidbits. Throughout Monday I will be updating my "10 Deadline Day Predictions" topic in my section [...]

Last week, we took at a look at the top trade candidates in the East and their fantasy impact. This week, let’s take a look at the Western Conference – where teams five through 15 are closer than I’ve ever seen them.

In fantasy hockey, a player being moved to a new NHL team is often good news for the fantasy owner. A fresh start or a likely shot as a star’s linemate – or both – is just what the doctor ordered for a slumping player.

Angus here with some early afternoon updates.  Martin Brodeur recorded his 100th career shutout (and second since returning from injury) today against the Flyers. Anyone still questioning his value to New Jersey? On that note, the Devils are quickly looking like they are the team to beat coming out of the East.  Sidney Crosby missed [...]
