Much like Stu McDonald did last night , Matt Bugg, DobberHockey’s Draft Guru, will live Blog Saturday’s Entry Draft happenings.

#211- Montreal trades for the last pick, and close out the Draft with 6’6 Finnish goalie Petteri Simila. No, I haven’t heard of him either.

#210- AHAHAHA! Detroit takes someone we knew about! Adam Almqvist, the tiny Swedish rushing defender, is a pure steal.

#209- Chicago takes David Gilbert from the Q.

#208- Carolina goes Euro again, taking a very North American defender in Tommi Kivisto. Safe two-way guy who has zero puck skills.

#207- San Jose revives their annual tradition of selecting Germans with Dominik Bielke. He’s a big boy at 6’3and while his skating is rough, he’s a smart kid who understands his position.

#206- Boston drafts yet another player from the CJHL not named Andrew Calof. It’s a shame.

#205- Washington nets Benjamin Casavant. It’s fitting Lucky Luc went into the Hall the same week a 40-goal scorer in the Q goes in the last round.

#204- New Jersey drafts Curtis Gedig, one of the darkhorse guys. He’s 6’3, skates really well, and was BCHL Defenseman of the Year.

#203- Atlanta selects Jordan Samuels-Thomas from Waterloo of the USHL. 6’3 winger is a potential steal- I personally don’t see it, but he has the heart and competitive drive to be an NHLer.

#202- St. Louis goes HS for Duluth East centre Maxwell Tardy.

#201- Calgary drafts Gaelan Patterson from Saskatoon.

#200- The Rangers grab the first overall pick in the KHL Draft, Mihail Pashnin. They must know something we don’t, as it was expected he would stay there.

#199- Montreal is making hay with these late picks. Mike Cichy was USA Junior A Player of the Year. I’m not sold on his overall ability, but he’s a project and the right one for Montreal.

#198- LA goes super-obscure with the first NAHL (Tier III) pick of the Draft. Nic Dowd is from Huntsville, Alabama, same town as Philly’s Jared Ross.

#197- Columbus adds some fists with Kyle Neuber. Note to Edmonton: THIS is the round to draft enforcers.

#196- 6’6 BEAST Oliver Lauridsen to Philly. I like this pick- unlike a lot of project big men, he’s actually playing college hockey.

#195- Chicago picks 6’1 defender Paul Phillips from Cedar Rapids of the USHL. We’re really getting into the obscure now.

#194- Buffalo selects ’89 born winger Maxime Legault from Shawinigan. I don’t like the pick- he’s way too one-dimensional and he’s not good enough at that dimension.  But it’s the 7th.

#193- Minny selects the first Midget player of the Draft, scooping up Anthony Hamburg from Dallas Stars AAA.

#192- Nashville goes to the BCHL late like they did last year, grabbing 6’2 ’91 born center Cameron Reid.

#191- The Sens trade for Edmonton’s seventh rounder, and net 6’4 USHL defender Michael Sdao.

#190- Ottawa takes Brad Peltz, a late ’89 still playing in high school.

#189-  SJ selects ’90 born Slovak Marek Viedensky. He’s 6’4, so it’s easy to see what they like- plus he’s already over here. had a really good year with prince George and could be a quality bottom sixer.

#188- Toronto nets 6’4 Peterborough defender Barron Smith. I really like that pick- he’s a quality defensive player who could be a little more.

#187- Vancouver selects Steve Anthony. Way too low- for all his trappings, he’s already a solid defensive forward who could make the WJC team.

#186- Los Angeles goes character kid again, taking Jordan Nolan- son of Ted.

#185- Atlanta gets a STEAL in Levko Koper. NHL-quality skills.

#184- Colorado adds Noble HS defender Gus Young. Don’t know him.

#183- Tampa Bay follows up Haula with another Shattuck player, D Kirill Gotovets.

#182- Erik Haula FINALLY goes to Minny. WTH?! He’s got top-six upside!

#181- The Pens finish Round 6 with ’89 born Viktor Ekbom. Terrible skater, but he’s smart and proved himself against men in the Allsvenskan.

#180- Detroit goes North American in Round 6; Mitchell Callahan is a big-time enforcer although he’s not all that big.

#179- The Kings once again take a late-draft risk on a small forward. Brandon Kozun has Justin Azevedo’s skill level, but much better speed.

**TRADE**

Brian Boyle to NYR for a pick- The Rags add a big center who could thrive. They know their power forwards.

#178- Carolina goes to Europe?! They take Rasmus Rissanen, a 6’2 Finnish defender.

#177- Chicago selects another one of the interesting OJHL players, grabbing big center David Pacan. Really good project pick.

#176- Another fantastic pick. The Bruins grab two-way forward Tyler Randall from Kitchener. There’s so much to like about him.

#175- GREAT pick by Washington, taking project PF Garrett Mitchell. I’m not sold on his overall ability, but you can’t fault him in the 6th.

#174- Devils grab big winger Ashton Bernard. He’s your classic NJ pick- power winger who didn’t get a lot of exposure, but his skillset is intriguing.

#173- Vancouver adds goalie Joe Cannata from Merrimack College. He’s a ’90 born who is developing nicely in college and has some interesting upside.

#172- Philly takes one of Windsor’s Mem Cup heroes, Eric Wellwood.

#171- As if the Flames didn’t have enough goalies, they select Fin Joni Ortio.

#170- Rangers scoop up 6’3 defender Daniel Maggio from Sudbury. They found the next Girardi- I saw a bit of him and loved his simple, efficient game.

#169- Montreal selects 6’2 center Dustin Walsh, another kid I’m not familiar with. He played in the Ontario Junior A ranks.

#168- The Blues take 6’3, 216 lbs defender David Shields out of Erie. Don’t know much about him.

#167- Columbus grabs project D Anton Blomqvist. 6’4 ’90 born who really shone in Swedish Junior with Malmo. Like this pick.

#166- Anaehim scoops up London D Scott Valentine, a great stay-at-homer.

#165- Florida drafts late ’89 born Scott Timmins, who is among the OHL’s top checking forwards.

#164- Buffalo takes a risk on Miami goalie Connor Knapp- all 6’5 of him. I like this pick this late.

#163- Finnish + safe forward = Wild pick. Jere Sallinen, a late ’90 born who played for Espoo’s U20 team in 2008-09.

#162- Tampa continues their year-to-year monopoly of the best project Euro goalies, taking Jaroslav Janus.

#161- Minnesota selects ’90 born Darcy Kuemper, who had the unenviable task of tending goal for Red Deer. Nice project pick at 6’4.

#160- Sens a take a hometown boy in LW Corey Cowick.

#159- Wouldn’t you know it- the Stars hit gold with Jamie Benn, so they go back to the BCHL for another unheralded scorer, Curtis McKenzie.

#158- Toronto gets a STEAL in Jerry D’Amigo. Holy moly.

#157- Phoenix goes to the BCHL for LW Evan Bloodoff. Watch out for this kid.

#156- LA takes another big, tough winger in Mike Pelech.

#155- Atlanta takes Jimmy Bubnick. Told you he’d fall.

#154- Colorado is the one who pulls the trigger on Brandon Maxwell. Doesn’t look like much if you just look at the numbers, but he could be a top five goalie on the OHL next year.

#153- Philly takes QMJHL center Dave Labrecque.

#152- Islanders take Anders Lee, the QB/hockey player who took a year to decide what sport he wanted to play. Great pick.

#151- Pittsburgh takes Andy Bathgate. No, not the retired Andy Bathgate; this kid was an OPJHL star before getting in some sparse OHL action.

#150- Detroit takes Green Bay D Nick Jensen. He’s your typical DRW pick- smart, understated player.

#149- Chicago grabs ’90 born Swedish center Marcus Kruger. '90 born who led J20 in scoring.

#148- Lightning take Michael Zador, the much-embattled OHL goalie.

#147- Sharks grab undersized forward Phil Varone from London, who was a playoff surprise. Great value.

#146- Ottawa takes one of my favorite people in the Draft- Jeff Costello. He’s a diabetic who needs to wear a pump to play. Love the kid’s character and grinding game.

#145- Washington grabs Brett Flemming, one of the OHL’s top defensive defenders.

#144- NJ goes for an unranked forward, AJHLer Derek Rodwell.

#143- Vancouver selects their Alex Edler of ’09, 6’3 Peter Andersson. Simple defensive defenseman who they’ll be content to let develop in Sweden.

#142- Philly takes one of the two formerly undrafted goalies, Nicola Riopel.

#141- Calgary takes 6’3 BCHL forward Spencer Bennett.

#140- NYR takes the last of the major goalies, 6’3 Scott Stacjer.

#139- Montreal goes home again, taking smallish center Gabriel Dumont. Limited ability, but he’s tenacious and extremely good defensively.

#138- Another obscure HS player, C Wade Megan to Florida.

#137- Columbus adds a big project D, 6’5 Thomas Larkin.  He’s a character kid and he has the mindset to work his way up. He’s also got great puck skills for a high school mammoth.

#136- Radoslav Illo to the Ducks. Previously undrafted C who played in the USHL. Don’t know him.

#135- Florida takes the second AJHL player, power forward Corban Knight. He’s raw but his basic skills are terrific.

#134- Buffalo goes for an off-the-board guy in Mark Adams, who played for Malden Catholic HS.

#133- EDMONTON TAKES OLIVIER ROY! Excuse me while I high-five myself.

#132- Nashville grabs 5’9 sniper Gabriel Bourque. Great pick for a team that needs offense no matter the size of the package it comes in.

#131- Carolina selects RW Matt Kennedy.

#130- Ottawa selects passed-over Mike Hoffman. Had a GREAT season in the Q. He could make an impact similar to Zack Smith last year.

#129- Dallas drafts Tomas Vincour. Perfect place for him- can’t deny his skill, but his shoulder and skating are huge question marks.

#128- Classic Burke pick here- 6’6 tier II defender Eric Knodel. Had a good year, but he’s a long-term project.

#127- Rangers add Roman Horak, a skilled but one-dimensional Czech forward.

#126- Last year, LA took an overage offensive dynamo in Azevedo; this year, they take the D equivalent in David Kolomatis. He can play pro right away.

#125- Atlanta takes enforcer Cody Sol.

#124- Colorado selects  BU goalie Kieran Millan. Deserved to go a LOT higher- you can make an argument he’s a top 3 goalie in the class.

#123- Pittsburgh goes for Alex Velischek in the 5th. Nice, simple D.

#122- Islanders take the first Random Russian, D Anton Klementyev.

#121- Pittsburgh goes to the place they like the most late- the Q. Nick Petersen is a high-compete forward who is a perfect fit.

#120- Atlanta selects again, pick project D Ben Chiarot.

#118- Chicago grabs C Byron Froese. A guy who started drawing interest after his strong U18s.

#117- Atlanta takes workhorse goalie Edward Pasquale. Nice pick.

#116- Minnesota takes forward Alex Fallstrom, who is sort of a hometown boy despite being a Swede- he played for Shattuck.

#115- Washington drafts 6’3 defender Patrick Wey right on the heels of another big boy.

#114- NJ selects 6’5 USHL D Seth Helgeson.

#113- Vancouver adds the highest-rated Ontario Junior A defender left, Jeremy Price. Good value; he had a great year with Nepean and had a very good Junior A Top Prospects Game.

#112- Boston selects 20-year-old OHL power winger Lane MacDermid.

#111- Calgary goes to Sweden for the third time, take faller Henrik Bjorklund. Nice pick- he’s a crafty offensive forward.

#110- Nashville takes HS power forward Nick Oliver. About where he should go; he’s your basic grinding forward.

**TRADE**
Oilers send C Kyle Brodziak to Minnesota for 3rd + 5th. As an Oilers fan, I’m sad to see Brodziak go- he was drafted and developed by Edmonton and looked to be on the verge of a breakout.

#109- Montreal knows talent when they see it, take skilled, big Russian winger Alex Avtsyn.

#108- St. Louis selects WHL forward Tyler Shattock. REALLY smart kid.

#107- Florida adds winger Garrett Wilson. Good value.

#106- Anaheim takes the other falling Finn, Sami Vatanen. Great pick.

#105- Phoenix selects 6’2 WHL D Justin Weller. Physical kid who plays an honest game.

#104- Buffalo reaches slightly for big LW Marcus Foligno. He’s not skilled enough for me.

#103- Minnesota takes the sleeper, Kris Foucault.

#102- Is Nashville allergic to forwards or what? Preds take D Mattias Ekholm, eligible last year. He had a breakout year in 2008-09 for Mora of the Allsvenskan.

#101- …Oilers take Rajala! Finally!

#100- Ottawa selects re-entry Chris Wideman from Miami. Great value in the 4th, but the…

#99- Edmonton acquires the pick out-right, select BCHL Championship MVP Kyle Bigos, a 6’5, 230 lbs D. Not a bad pick.

#98- Nashville takes C Craig Smith, who has been passed over twice.

#97- Phoenix adds F Jordan Szwarz, the small forward who dominated the Combine.

#96- LA uses pick #2 on Linden Vey. Small, speedy winger who boasts tremendous creativity.

#95- LA trades up, takes goalie JF Berube. Limited exposure, but I liked what I saw of him in one game- he has a big-time goalie’s mindset and stamina.

#94- Jackets select Q defender David Savard. GREAT pick. Rough skater, but tons of IQ.

#93- TBL add Alex Hutchings. A crime he was still around.

#92- NYI picks Casey Cizikas. Interesting. Didn’t think he would go due to off-ice issues.

#91- Phoenix trades for Pittsburgh's pick, selects USHL star goalie Mike Lee. Way too late.

#90- Detroit selects D Gleason Fournier. He has the skills, but is hockey sense is lacking.

#89- Chicago get 6’4, 225 lbs HS center Dan DeLisle. Great pick.

#88- Carolina selects Mattias Lindstrom, Swedish defensive forward.

#87- Philly adds no-nonsense defender Simon Bertilsson. GREAT pick at the end of the 3rd.

#86-Ryan Button is a Bruin. Sleek two-way D who could thrive in Boston.

#85- Washington picks up the CHL’s fastest skater, Cody Eakin. Steal.

#84- LA selects D Nicolas Deslauriers.

#83- Vancouver selects D Kevin Connauton from Western Michigan. Rumors of him going north next year and the Giants have a good relationship with the Nucks.

#82- Edmonton adds 6’4 enforcer Cameron Abney.

#81- Philly adds goalie Adam Morrison. Roy and Lee continue to hang around.

#80- Rangers add the ‘other’ Bourque, Ryan. He’s a much better player than Chris, both in attitude and hockey sense.

#79- Montreal selects prep d-man Mac Bennett. Really like his attitude.

#78- St. Louis takes Sergei Andronov.

#77- Minnesota selects G Matt Hackett. What a weird draft.

#76- Anaheim adds the Russian goalie, Igor Bobkov. They’re stocked in goal, with Modig and now him.

#75- Detroit takes Q import LW Andrej Nestrasil! If you've followed the column this year, you'll already know how much I love him.

#74- Calgary selects pure scorer Ryan Howse. Got that one in the mock!

#73- Jersey adds a potential steal in 6’3 Swede D Alex Urbom. This is a true Det/NJ pick- plays a simple game right now, but you wonder what you can turn him into.

#72- Nashville grabs a steal in Michael Latta, Beck’s teammate. They’re making hay.

#71- Edmonton selects Minnetonka D Troy Hesketh. He was paired with Jake Gardiner last year, Anaheim’s 1st rounder in ’08.

#70- Nashville picks up Taylor Beck. Everyone keeps complaining about his skating, but it’s okay. I don’t like his hockey sense.

#69- Dallas selects Reilly Smith, an OJHL star.

#68- Leafs draft Jamie Devane, a 6’4 winger from the OHL. I do not know anything about him!

#67- Florida selects Josh Birkholz, the USHL speedster. I like him more than most; could a be 25-goal guy.

#66- Buffalo adds gritty D Brayden McNabb. Nice pick; his poor U18s hurt his stock, so this is where he belongs.

#65- Montreal goes to Finland for a potential Koivu replacement. Joonas Nattinen is a great playmaker, but an even better defensive forward. Love the pick.

#64- Avs add another rushing D, Tyson Barrie. They’re having a great day eating everyone’s left-overs.

#63- Pittsburgh takes a risk on high school phenom Ben Hanowski. Interesting pick- he’s got some of the best one-on-one skills in the Draft, but merely average skating.

#62- Isles add another goalie?! 6’5 Swede Anders Nilsson.

#61- Pens add Ulf Samuelsson’ son, Phil. Another simple SAH D.

#60- The Wings add Tomas Tatar. Unbelievable and the STEAL of the 2nd day so far.

#59- Brandon Pirri goes a lot higher than expected. Junior A star who is only an average skater, but he thinks at an NHL speed.

#58- Leafs select Windsor D Jesse Blacker. Simple stay-at-homer that has NHL smarts.

#57- Sharks take 6’7 D Taylor Doherty. I think I got this one in the mock draft! Long-term project, but he does everything well for his size.

#56- Jackets moves up, take NTDP forward Kenny Lynch.

#55- Caps finally take the Russian, D Dmitri Orlov. He could be the next Voynov.

#54-NJ selects D Eric Gelinas

#53- Canucks add another super Swede, Anton Rodin. Lots of skill but is a project.

#52- Lightning take Panik! Right team, right fit.

#51- Carolina reaches for Brian Dumoulin, the EJHL kid. He was expected to be a 3rd due to limited viewing. High, high potential- think Tom Gilbert.

#50- Toronto adds Kenny Ryan. He’s a Burke type- power kid who has great skill.

#49- Avs select Stefan Elliott. Can’t believe he was still on the board. He could be the next Mike Green.

#48- St. Louis adds mammoth D Brett Ponich. I personally saw him as a 5th/6th rounder.

#47- Rangers add 6’3, 30-goal winger Ethan Werek. Teams will be KICKING themselves for letting the OHL star fall to here. Another Grachev-esque steal.

#46- Ottawa shores up goaltending with Swede Robin Lehner. A European goalie coach known for training some of the best called him better than Markstrom.

#45- Jeremy Morin finally goes, to Atlanta. Unbelievable.

#44- Florida selects Drew Shore. 6’3 center who under-utilizes his size right now, but he’s among the smartest players in the Draft.

#43-What the heck is wrong with the NHL?! They keep cutting away from the board, so no one can see anything! Sharks select William Wrenn from the USNTDP. Simple, physical D.

#42- Nashville adds ANOTHER D, but he’s a good one. Charles-Olivier Roussel is a big, physical player who patterns his game after Phaneuf.

#41- Preds draft Zach Budish! Big power forward who missed most of the year with injury, so few saw him.

#40- Edmonton adds Paajarvi’s linemate, Anton Lander. Great two-way center. He’s on par with Josefson.

#39- Ottawa selects Jacob Silfverberg. The 9th Swede to go. Great talent, but can he translate?

#38- Dallas selects Alex Chiasson. 6’4 PF who can make plays off the wing. Great addition.

#37-Anaheim adds the gritty stay-at-home OHL D, Matt Clark. Limited fantasy upside.

#36- Coyotes select USNTDP player Chris Brown. He’s big, mean and fast, but beyond a heavy shot, you have to wonder what he can do at the next level. May not have enough hockey sense.

#35 LA reaches for agitator Kyle Clifford. He’s the kind they love- aggressive, smart and potentially quite skilled. He’s a long-term project.

#34-Atlanta adds the speedy Swedish PF, Carl Klingberg. Another steal. He’s a lot like Boston 1st rounder Jordan Caron, but he’s a much, much better skater.

#33- Avs select Ryan O’Reilly. A lot like current Av Ryan Smyth- potential captain

#32- Wings select Landon Ferraro. Unbelievable steal at 32.

#31-Isles select Mikko Koskinen, the 6’7 goalie. Great pick.
