Guerin to Remain in Pittsburgh? June 28, 2009

The Rangers will not qualify Freddie Sjostrom, making him a UFA on Wednesday. I told you he was no good…and some readers had actually argued the point!

The Canucks are too polite to do it publicly, but they are probably laughing at the Sedin's demands behind closed doors. Yeah right, sign them until they are 40. Like that's smart.

If the Penguins get a deal done with Bill Guerin, it will be done by tomorrow, according to the Gazette.

The Pens will ask the league to put Mike Zigomanis' name on the Cup. He played 22 games for them.

The Lightning will be a great team hanging onto Lecavalier, St. Louis, Stamkos up front with Panik, Ashton and Tyrell in the system; Hedman, Meszaros, Ranger and Lashoff on the back end. A healthy, stable team like this will surprise you this season.

Teemu Selanne has announced that he will return for another NHL season. There wasn't a lot of doubt though.

If the Red Wings sign Hossa, there is no way they can retain Hudler. Frankly, they are better off letting Hossa go. They made their decision on who to keep when they signed Franzen. Keep Hudler's potential and the cap flexibility.

There were some under the radar trades this weekend, including Sami Lepisto and Brian Boyle finding new homes. I will give you the full lowdown in today's article.

Don't forget – tomorrow night – Dobber Nation. A "must listen".
