Dobber is looking for a prospects columnist - details here.   Matt Corrente, who I am high on as a future 20-30 point, 150+ PIM defenseman, had two fights against the Lightning last night.   I'll have some updates up tomorrow morning/afternoon.   Great article on David Perron and Twitter here.   Bergfors had a [...]

Saturday’s Picks – with Marty and Thunder

Alex Burrows

Wawa, ON was quite rough on me and my selections a couple of weeks ago.  Lesson learned, just like with a woman, alcohol hinders judgement when it comes to hockey. I am now back in the Bay, and Thunder’s been getting antsy without making any picks for almost a month.  I wish I could say that I’ve won $1300, but I guess I just don’t have the balls to send out anything more than a $5 ticket.  14 games on tap for the weekend, let’s see if we can get back to our winning ways.

Nashville has recalled Cal O'Reilly.   Dobber's Puck Daddy article from yesterday - check it out here!   Busy night tonight around the league! If I missed something, put it in the comments – I try to be as thorough and detailed as I can with these but usually an interesting stat or two slips [...]

2010 WJHC Previews – Team Sweden

By |2015-07-24T10:49:28-04:00December 3rd, 2009|z-Archives (other articles)|

Tre Kronor

The Swedish roster was announced on November 30th, and it features a plethora of talent at all three positions. In goal, they will be anchored by blue-chip prospect (and if you watched the tournament last winter, aspiring actor) Jacob Markstrom. The defense will feature at least two (and potentially three) recent first round draft picks, and the forward group consists of a great mix of speed, skill, and tenacity. On paper, the Swedish team looks like the one to beat heading in to the tournament.

Bust a Move

Eric Staal

In keeping with my Western counterparts theme this week, I’ll take a look at some Eastern Conference players that could be considered busts at this point in the season. I will also give you my slant on what to expect for the remainder of the season.

Dobber's Puck Daddy from today - right here.   I'll have analysis up on the Tlusty-Paradis trade in a bit. Paul Maurice (Carolina coach) no doubt recommended Tlusty, as he coached him a bit in Toronto.   Kindl will be seeing first-unit power play time. Maybe take a short-term flier on him in addition to [...]

Despite being in the AHL, Grachev will not be allowed by the Rangers to go to the WJC. Russia wants him, Rags say "no". That indicates that they have plans for him to join the big club.   Those of you in a fantasy baseball keeper league - Snyder has just posted the Top 150 [...]

Dobber Nation

Note - file is now complete - we apoligize for the partial (from Dec. 1st)

For your listening pleasure - put it on your Ipod or just listen in on your computer! Usually Dobber Nation is out on the 25th of every month, but due to the health issues that postponed October, the November edition was pushed back a few days. It's here now, so let's talk some fantasy hockey!

Walker talks about some under-the radar prospects with Jeff Nielsen, including revisiting a favorite sleeper of Dobber's and Bugg's (you'll have to listen to find out who!). Martin Hanzal jumps on to discuss his increased ice time under the new coach, what his role is and will be, as well as his thoughts on some of his young teammates. Jeff Angus comes on to give his take on how Dustin Penner will do without Ales Hemsky, what the future holds for Gilbert Brule, as well as other fantasy-relevant situations around the league.

You can download the file in our Dobber Nation page (click HERE) or on ITunes
