Canucks Sign Raffi Torres

Fantasy Impact: The Vancounver Canucks have signed winger Raffi Torres to a one-year, $1 million contract.
The Canucks get: an on-again, off-again power winger who has been off-again with much more frequency these last two seasons. He’s been oft injured, but if he stays healthy he has shown that he can lay out 150 hits, 80 PIM and 45 points. The price was rock-bottom, the Canucks did well in addressing some grit on the cheap.
Fantasy Players Impacted: This hurts the odds of Sergei Shirokov and Bill Sweatt making the team – and those odds were somewhat slim to begin with. However, this team can score goals and if Torres can get back to his 40-plus days it will be here. However, he has averaged about 30 games missed per year over the last three campaigns.
Players this helps, in order:
1. Torres
Players this hurts, in order:
1. Shirokov
2. Sweatt
3. Jeff Tambellini
