Looking Ahead – Week 19
When do your fantasy playoffs start? Does your league mirror the NHL and have your season run right up until game 82? Or do you end it a week early in fear of having your top guns taking a few games off to rest nagging injuries? Either way (I prefer the latter), if you plan your cards right, your sixth seeded team that barely made it could breeze to the finals, subsequently annoying your entire group of friends and giving you bragging rights for the summer.

There are times during the season when certain players are given an opportunity to shake a season long funk or step up when a team mate succumbs to an injury. All fantasy owners know to watch out for this, but we are often too busy to recognize it before it is too later and a competitor swoops in and claims the glory.

Frolik traded to the Blackhawks
Fantasy Impact: Chicago has acquired skilled winger Michal Frolik from the Florida Panthers in exchange for Jack Skille. There are other moving parts in the deal, but it essentially breaks down to Frolik for Skille swap. I guess Dale Tallon doesn’t subscribe to the “don’t sell low” theory.

Fantasy Impact: TSN reports that Anahiem has traded Joffrey Lupul, Jake Gardiner and a 2013 conditional draft pick to Toronto for defenseman Francois Beauchemin.
