Here's the latest injury news from across the NHL! If you're looking for information about a specific player and don't see their name in this article, there probably haven't been any significant updates about their progress since our last article. If you ever need injury updates for a specific player, shoot me a message on Twitter @BrennanDeSouza.

Tony DeAngeloOn February 24th, coach Rod Brind'Amour revealed DeAngelo would be sidelined for about a month because of a midsection injury.  Jaccob Slavin has been promoted to the top power-play unit with DeAngelo sidelined.

Calvin de Haan – Has missed the last couple of games due to a groin strain but the team hopes he'll be available for Thursday's clash with the Oilers.

Jonathan ToewsHas been cleared from concussion protocol and will return to the lineup as soon as he feels ready. The Blackhawks hope to have Toews in the lineup on Thursday when they face the Oilers.

Valeri NichushkinThe Avalanche forward is day-to-day with an upper-body injury.

Bowen ByramHas been skating frequently over the past week but coach Jared Bednar cautioned that Byram's road to recovery won't be a straight line. Byram has been dealing with lingering issues from previous concussions and the team continues to monitor his status on a day-to-day basis. The Avalanche will probably be extra careful with Byram's recovery this time around as they look to prioritize the youngster's long-term health.

Adam BoqvistThe Blue Jackets defenseman missed Tuesday's clash with the Devils because of an upper-body injury. There's no timetable for his return as I write this. Boqvist has quietly scored 10 goals in 40 games this season.

Zach WerenskiAn upper-body injury has kept Werenski sidelined for Columbus' last four games. He skated on Tuesday morning and hasn't been ruled out of Friday's game against the Kings. Werenski has racked up 33 points in 48 games this season, which translates to a 56-point pace in 82 games.

Joonas KorpisaloThe Blue Jackets netminder skated with his team on Tuesday. It's been two weeks since Korpisalo was labelled day-to-day with a lower-body injury. He's struggled this season, posting a 3.82 GAA and .887 save percentage through 18 appearances.

Ryan Nugent-HopkinsThe Oilers forward is expected to miss two to three weeks with an upper-body injury (believed to be a shoulder issue).

Zack KassianHas been skating on his own recently and will start practicing with the team within the next week or so. Kassian should be back in the lineup at some point this month, with a return expected in another two or three weeks. He's currently sidelined with a fractured jaw.

Jordan GreenwayHas been skating on his own recently as he works his way back from an upper-body injury. It doesn't sound like Greenway will travel with the Wild as they visit Philadelphia on Thursday and Buffalo on Friday.

Matt DumbaMinnesota's defenseman has been skating on his own recently and there's a chance he joins the team on its two-game trip through Philadelphia and Buffalo. On February 14th we learned that Dumba would miss a few weeks because of a lower-body injury.

Christian Dvorak – Has been skating on his own recently. Dvorak has been day-to-day with an upper-body injury for some time now. The team said he's not dealing with a concussion, but perhaps this injury is of a similar nature – in the sense that progress isn't linear and the medical staff just has to see how he's feeling each day.

Jonathan Drouin – Has been doing some solo work on the ice and making good progress recently. In late January, the team announced that Drouin would be sidelined indefinitely with a wrist injury. While it's encouraging that he's skating again, he hasn't practiced with the team yet, so a return isn't exactly imminent.

Jake Allen – Started practicing last week and is progressing well. On January 21st, the team announced that Allen would miss eight weeks with a lower-body injury. There's still about two weeks left in that original timetable.

Joel Edmundson – Was a full participant in Monday's practice and is travelling with the team through Western Canada – although we don't know if he'll make his season debut during this road trip. Edmundson hasn't played yet this season because of a back injury, but participating in a full-contact practice is certainly a big step in the right direction.

Carey Price – On Friday, the Canadiens announced that their star goaltender was still working out off the ice and progressing well. However, they also said that Price would not be on the ice this week.

Mackenzie BlackwoodOn February 24th, coach Lindy Ruff said that Blackwood had a few injections and was working hard at another phase of his rehab. A heel injury has kept New Jersey's netminder sidelined since late January.

Mathew BarzalThe Isles forward is day-to-day with a lower-body injury. He wasn't wearing any protective equipment on his leg (i.e., a brace or cast) as he watched Tuesday morning's team skate from the bench.

Josh NorrisWill make his return from a shoulder injury against the Panthers on Thursday.

Kevin Hayes – Has been feeling great recently and while he won't face Minnesota on Thursday, he could be available for Saturday's game against Chicago. Hayes underwent a core-related procedure on January 18th (his third core-related procedure in the past year) which came with a recovery timeline of three to four weeks.

Ryan Ellis – On Tuesday, coach Mike Yeo said it's looking less and less likely that Ellis will play again this season. Nothing has been determined just yet, but we only have a couple months left in the campaign and Ellis still hasn't been able to skate with any intensity. The Flyers defenseman has been limited to just four games this season because of a lower-body injury that's believed to be a hip/groin issue.

Mike Matheson – The Penguins defenseman is out week-to-week with an upper-body injury.

James Reimer – Left Tuesday's game against the Golden Knights with a lower-body injury. Coach Bob Boughner did not have any further updates on Reimer's status after the game, but said the injury could be a product of overusing his goaltender recently. Reimer had started five games in the last 10 days.

Mario Ferraro – On Sunday, the Sharks announced that Ferraro underwent surgery to repair a fracture in his lower fibula and would be sidelined for six to eight weeks.

Adin Hill – Is expected to be a full participant in practice on Thursday. If everything goes well, he should be available to start against Nashville on Saturday or Anaheim on Sunday. Hill was labelled day-to-day with a lower-body injury on January 26th and has been sidelined ever since.

Erik KarlssonIs scheduled to practice on Thursday. If all goes well, he could return to the lineup this weekend – either against the Predators on Saturday, or the Ducks on Sunday. Karlsson has been sidelined since January 24th, when he underwent surgery on his forearm.

Jared McCannWas placed on Injured Reserve last week because of an upper-body injury. He skated on Tuesday and will join the team on the road as the Kraken begin a five-game trip this Saturday.

Jaden SchwartzHas been skating recently and will travel with the team on its upcoming five-game road trip, which begins on Saturday and extends to March 12th. On January 6th, the team announced that Schwartz would have hand surgery, which came with a recovery timetable of four to six weeks.

Ondrej KaseThe Leafs forward is day-to-day with an undisclosed injury. He didn't practice on Tuesday and isn't expected to face the Sabres on Wednesday.

Jake MuzzinWas recently placed on long-term injured reserve. The move requires Muzzin to miss at least 10 games and 24 days of action, so the earliest he can return is March 18th. He's dealing with his second concussion of the season, so the team will have to be cautious with his recovery. That means we can't place a concrete timetable on his return.

Max PaciorettyMissed Vegas' last two games because of a lower-body injury and coach Pete DeBoer said his winger isn't close to returning any time soon.

Nolan PatrickHas been skating recently without taking contact.Patrick has been sidelined since taking a hit to the head on February 16th. Recovering from a head injury is an unpredictable process, so it's tough to say exactly when he'll be back. I expect the Golden Knights will be extra cautious with Patrick's recovery as he has a history of concussions and was diagnosed with a migraine disorder a few years ago.

Alec Martinez – Reports indicate that Martinez is dealing with equilibrium-related issues that have prevented him from practicing at full intensity. This may explain why the recovery process has been so unpredictable. If these reports are true, it makes sense that Martinez hasn't been able to play, because his sense of balance is thrown off. It also makes sense that his recovery timetable has been all over the place because there's no tangible healing process which we can put a timeline on. The Golden Knights defenseman has been sidelined for the past three months because of a facial laceration/head injury. The injury situation was described as very complicated as the team's been thinking he's close to a return for a while now.

Ilya Samsonov – Is being evaluated after taking a shot up high during Wednesday's practice.

Justin Schultz – Has been a full participant in recent practices and was a game-time decision ahead of Monday's clash with Toronto. Although he didn't end up playing, the fact that he was a game-time decision suggests he's very close to returning and could be an option against the Hurricanes on Thursday.

Anthony ManthaOn Monday, Mantha took contact in practice for the first time since undergoing shoulder surgery in early November. He hasn't been ruled out of Thursday's clash with Carolina, which suggests a return could be just around the corner.

Nikolaj EhlersPracticed with the team on Monday, but wasn't taking any contact. His skating looked strong and it sounds like he's getting closer to a return. This is an encouraging step forward as he's been sidelined with a knee injury since mid-January.

Cole PerfettiHasn't been skating recently and is still a ways away from returning. He's dealing with an upper-body injury that's a little more serious than your typical 'day-to-day' ailment.
