DFS Thursday: Panthers Go for 12 in a Row

Stephen Dotzel

The days of the 2021-2022 season are dwindling and Thursday presents us with one of the last double-digit game slates of the year. That coupled with Dobber Hockey's new DFS subscription service being live has me checking in on a Thursday on top of my regular Saturday article. Be sure to check those out for some DFS strategy. If you want to give our DFS tools a shot, take a look at the link below.

All players and prices are from DraftKings but can be applied to any site.

Top-Tier Stack to Target:

Florida – Winners of 11 straight, the Panthers are firing on all cylinders as the playoffs are quickly approaching. The duo of Aleksander Barkov ($8,300) and Jonathan Huberdeau ($7,900) are the centerpieces of any Florida stack. Consider Anthony Duclair ($4,500) as the third piece, and if going out to a four-man stack look at one of Carter Verhaeghe ($3,300) or Mackenzie Weegar ($6,000).

Also consider St. Louis. Despite being held off the scoresheet on Tuesday, Vladimir Tarasenko still has eight goals over his last six games. Stack him with his line mates of Robert Thomas ($5,700) and Pavel Buchnevich ($6,000).

Mid-Tier Stack to Target:

Los Angeles – The Kings desperately need a point or two to keep both Vegas and Vancouver at bay in the playoff race. A matchup with a Blackhawks team on a back-to-back should be a game they can win. Look towards Anze Kopitar ($5,000), Adrian Kempe ($5,000), and Phillip Danault ($4,500) for a stack with Sean Durzi ($4,200) as a possible fourth option.

Also consider Buffalo. Tage Thompson ($6,800), Jeff Skinner ($5,800), and Rasmus Dahlin ($5,400) share even-strength and power-play time together and have 10 points combined in just the last two games. Alex Tuch ($5,400) and Victor Olofsson ($3,500) are your two options to go to if extending out to a fourth player.

Value Stack to Target:

Montreal – A matchup with Philadelphia means next to nothing in real life, but it could be a good source of points in the fantasy world. The Flyers have been getting shelled with 32 goals allowed over the last six games, all losses. If that's going to continue look at Nick Suzuki ($5,400), Cole Caufield ($4,700), and Josh Anderson ($3,400) to do some damage.

Cheap Power-Play 1 Plugs:

C – Casey Mittelstadt ($3,000), Jean-Gabriel Pageau ($3,000), Joel Eriksson Ek ($4,200)

W – Pavel Zacha ($2,700), Alex Killorn ($3,300), Lucas Raymond ($3,400)

D – Ryan Merkley ($2,500), John Klingberg ($4,100), Durzi ($4,200)

Goalie Picks:

When in doubt, include your goalie with one of the team stacks within your lineup in the hopes of picking up the win if your stack performs well. Otherwise, consider:

Igor Shesterkin ($7,900) – Arguably the league's best goaltender, but priced as the 10th ranked one on this slate. Sets up as a good value.

Ville Husso ($8,300) – A record of 8-0-2 over the past ten games with a .925 save percentage. My preferred target when paying up.

Be sure to double check your lineups before lock for any last-minute scratches or goalie changes.
