Good morning DFS crew! I gotta say, I love this slate, and typically that's not the case with 11 gamers, but tonight I like this board and think there are some spots that are worth drawing attention to that might be overlooked.

Slate Preview

New York Rangers

This may raise some eyebrows out there but hear me out: I think this Rangers team has been more unlucky than good to start the season. I get it and have seen the stat floated out there that this Rangers club was shutout it's first three games at home but if this happened in say January would we really be talking about it? I don't mind getting to some Rangers here, and if I'm going anywhere, it's probably an Artemi Panarin ($7,400) and Adam Fox ($6,300) two-man stack and if you want to add in Mika Zibanejad ($6,200), that's fine. The Toronto depth has been shaky to start, and even if the Rangers don't win tonight, a couple goals from this line and you're in business. I wouldn't go out of my way to make this a priority stack but keep in mind that the Rangers in the early going are second by HDCF% (per Natural Stat Trick) and second in overall shots on goal. Something's got to give eventually.

New Jersey Devils

Florida is on a road back-to-back and I watched most of their game last night against Detroit and this was a club that repeatedly kept getting trapped in their own end. I think it might be time to dust off ole reliable, and that's stacking the top four New Jersey forwards and turning my lineup into a 4-3-1, build. Now, if you want to outright play either of the top two lines, I don't mind that as well, and if I had to pick one my focus would probably lean the New Jersey second line just off how well they've looked to start. I haven't built yet, but I already know how tonight is going to go for me. I start with a single entry then that turns into a three-max somewhere and that's where the Devils fit perfect. In three max or above, getting to them is perfectly fine and even in single entry, there's a case to be made for making them a priority against this Panthers club coming off a loss.

Los Angeles Kings

This isn't so much a Los Angeles play as it is a "we're just going to stack against Tristin Jarry" play. There is no better goaltender out there to set your watch on four goals on 24 shots, look at last game out against Anaheim (four GA on 22 SA). Even in his lone win in two starts, he allowed three goals to an Islanders club that right now as I'm typing this is 32 out of 32 in the standings. If the Pens are throwing him in the crease, then I have real interest in Los Angeles. They have a fully correlated top line of Andrei Kuzmenko ($4,800) – Anze Kopitar ($4,800) – Adrian Kempe ($7,100), which is where my focus would go. Right now, Anze Kopitar is listed as questionable and if that's the case then I probably wouldn't drop down to Philip Danault, and maybe either add in Kevin Fiala ($6,300). I don't really hate the idea of a power play stack in this situation as well if you're playing multiple lineups. I've been sort of vocal on how I'm not all in on Los Angeles this season but for one game, against this Penguins club, I can get behind a Los Angeles build.

Defensemen

Top of the board tonight is Zach Werenski at $8k which his a little high for me. My ceiling is probably Roman Josi sitting at $7,100, as he can provide the volume to help justify spending up on a defenseman. Adam Fox at $6,300 is fine, but I would only pair him with New York and not as a one-off. Vince Dunn is a decent play at $5,300, even with how difficult it is to stack anything from Seattle. For my build, I'll probably live in the $4k's tonight with Aaron Ekblad at $4,900, maybe Darnell Nurse at $4,400, and Brandt Clarke at that same price. For a cheaper option, Sean Walker for Carolina at $3,700 is a good option.

Goalies

My ceiling for goaltenders tonight would likely be Darcy Kuemper at $8,300, but if he is out for tonight then my sights go right down to Anthony Stolarz at $7,800 if I decide to fade the Rangers. Connor Hellebuyck is maybe the best goaltender in the world and is sub $8k…do with that information what you will, and I do have interest in Juuse Saros sitting at $7,400. Justus Annunen got the start last game, so we can only assume that it will be Saros in net tonight for Nashville.
