Good morning, everyone! Did I play a DFS lineup last night? Well, I guess you can say that…I had a full Nashville top line stack with the Columbus top line and swapped those two around an hour before lock to the Boston top line plus a bunch San Jose stack. It was not a fun time. Watching my Hawks lose is hard enough to sit through let alone knowing you could be in the money…but hey, let's get it all back today!

I really like this slate upcoming and know that I'll be glued to my lineup as this is the last slate for a while. There might be some sort of Olympic Hockey DFS, but I can't myself getting too much into that…does playing Team USA depth interest anyone? Nick Schmaltz's line in Utah is better than the one he'll be on in Milan. Either way, let's get one last cash in before the break!

Slate Preview

Carolina Hurricanes

Full-stack Carolina1? That could easily be the move here tonight and to be honest, I don't mind the second line either if I'm going to Carolina in a single-entry tonight. Carolina looked alright in their last matchup against Ottawa, and while Ottawa…I don't know, "Sens'd" themselves a couple times late in that game, I liked what I saw from the Carolina. Tonight, I can get a fully correlated top line going up against the New York Rangers, and that's intriguing. In the Rangers'last 13 games played they have allowed four goals or more in seven of those contests, and that is partlydue to Jonathan Quick carrying a -13.33 goals saved above average. My only hesitation with Carolina on this slate if you're going to the top line, is finding a dance partner to fit with them, so this may be more of a case to where I'd find one-offs to pair with them. I will say, if you want to drop down to the Carolina third line, Nikolaj Ehlers has made that Jordan Staal line look good lately, so I don't mind dropping down if you need to save salary. I usually am a single-entry warrior but with this being the last slate until the end of the month, I can see talking myself into multiple-entry tonight, which means I am 100% getting to some Carolina. In single entrycontests, they would also strongly be in consideration for me, if I was going down that road.

Pittsburgh Penguins

Let's chase some volume and zonetime tonight, shall we? I watched most of theBuffaloSabres'last contest against the Bolts, and there's something that's been true about this Sabres club going back a couple weeks now. For sure, they are on a heater right now and are a good team, but they spend a lot of time in their own end. I know Tampa might be one of the clubs we see left standing come third week in May, but the Bolts ended up with around a 70/30 advantage over the Sabres in most offensive categories that we like to track like shots, scoring chances, expected goals, high-danger chances, etc. On the flip side, Pittsburgh made one mistake that cost them two points on Tuesday, but overall played alright against the New York Islanders, and I think playing them tonight can take you down a couple different paths for lineup construction. For volume, both Bryan Rust and Rickard Rakell have hit the shot bonus on DraftKingsin around 20% of their games, and even Ben Kindel is up there in that regard, having now hit the shot bonus in eight of his contests. Some sort of top line stack is going to be fully correlated and could be in a good spot if you wanted to play some Pens on this slate. Where I think this could get interesting as well, would be dropping down to the second line and going with an Egor Chinakov and Evgeni Malkin two-man stack. You can make the argument that over the Pens'last three games played, this has been their most productive offensive line with three goals for and 15 shots for. They might not be much for defending a rush, but for offense this line could be something that I'd want to play tonight or on future slates.

Los Angeles Kings

Okay, so you guys know how I feel about stacking a team going into Vegas, but for the Kings tonight, it's more the one-off's that I have interest in. Vegas is on the second game of a back-to-back and with Adin Hill in the net, this could be a spot to attack. If you wanted to one off Adrian Kempe, or Kevin Fiala, or maybe Trevor Moore; all these options are alright with me for this slate. It's not so much the even strength or powerplay matchup that caught my eye, but Adin Hill's stats over the past month have been bottom ten for goaltenders that may go overlooked tonight. In single-entry this may be a pass, but in multiple this could be a decent spot to fill gaps in a lineup.

Defense

I don't mind the top of the board on this slate tonight as Roman Josi above $7K is a good play and Darren Raddysh at $6,700 honestly seems a bit low for just how good he's been the past three weeks. Dougie Hamilton at $5,600 is fine and I know how you get to playing him. You find two lines you like, decent goaltender, cheap defenseman and when you look at your salary, you're somehow left with around $6K. That's the path to rostering him tonight, as this was last night for me with Miro Hesikanen, even though he was sort of on an island of his own for pricing. I really like Brandt Clarke tonight at $4,700 with or without the Kings (or with or without the scooter stick), as he's been blocking a good number of shots in the past few weeks to go along with his volume. For my sub $3K's today I have two that I like and that's Brenden Dillonat $2,500 and Jeremy Lauzon at $2,600. Lauzon has been involved with some good scoring chances for Vegas and might be a little bit of a bargain if that remains the case tonight.  

Goalies

Andrei Vasilevskiy would be my ceiling on this late at $8,200, though I don't necessarily think that this is a slate that you'd need to spend up in net with the options that we have available. While $8K might be a little steep for Alex Lyon, he has been good since taking over the primary starting duties in Buffalo, so I don't mind him if you're not playing the Penguins. Ilya Sorokin has been excellent, and if he gets the start tonight for New York, he makes for a good option at $7,600. For my cheaper option, I really do like Anton Forsberg who has been the best of the two Los Angeles goaltenders since the New Year. He might not see as much volume as you'd imagine going into Vegas with how good the Kings are at limiting opportunities, but if you need some savings in net from an expensive lineup, then Forsberg could be a go-to in net.
