Notch is back again with his winners and he provides his reasoning. Maybe his tips will help you with some tough decisions on your Saturday ticket…

Phoenix at New Jersey
After a small three game road trip ended the Devils 9 game winning streak, they will look to continue their strong play at home.  Phoenix has a history of giving Brodeur and the Devils fits in New Jersey.  The Devils are starting a homestand and Phoenix is in the middle of a road trip.  This is a 1:00pm start EST.  The Devils are 7-1 when playing on Saturday afternoons in the last 10 years.
New Jersey – H

Dallas at San Jose
Both teams have small 2 game win streaks going.  Dallas will want to come out flying to start their road trip.  San Jose is a .500 club at home this year.  Both teams are rested.  This is a 4:00pm start EST.
Dallas in a shootout – T

Columbus at Boston
4th game is 6 nights for Boston, whereas Columbus is well-rested and starting a road trip.  Boston is good at home; Columbus is poor on the road.  I see a flat effort from Beantown tonight.
Columbus – V

Chicago at Buffalo
This is the 3rd of 4 East vs. West matchups this Saturday.  The Sabres are a streaky team and will look to have their 3rd winning streak of 3 or more games this year.  Buffalo is a good team at home; Chicago is decent on the road.
Buffalo – H

Toronto at Montreal
A rare back-to-back game for Toronto will show when Montreal looks to build upon a huge win against the Flyers.  Will this one go to overtime like so many have done before between these 2 storied rivals?  Not this time.
Montreal – H

Atlanta at Ottawa
Ottawa is on a roll, like the one that had them bust out of the gates at the start of the season.  The Mighty Sens have out scored Carolina and Pittsburgh 10-1 in their last 2 games.  That is a bad thing for Atlanta who are playing their 3rd game in 4 nights, plus the Thrashers had to travel last night.  This is a laugher, even though Atlanta usually plays Ottawa tough.  Pizza time for those in attendance at ScotiaBank Place.
Ottawa – H+

Pittsburgh at NY Islanders
Pittsburgh is in a funk, and coming to Nassau Coliseum is usually not a good thing for the Pens.  Pittsburgh has lost their last 4 games on the Isles.  The Islanders can’t score though, and after splitting the first 2 games this year, both by scores of 3-2, I think the Pens will do just enough to take the early rubber match and finally get a win in New York.
Pittsburgh – V

Carolina at Philadelphia
Carolina also plays their 3rd in 4 with B-2-B games and travel to deal with.  Philly has one all 3 games this year against the Hurricanes and will look to make it 4 straight.  Penalty trouble for Philly keeps this game close.
Philly – H

Florida at Detroit
Both teams are rested, and ready to go.  Florida is a surprising 6-3-1 in their last 10 games, but Detroit is a different animal when they are playing at the Joe.
Detroit – H+

Washington at Tampa Bay
Interesting.  Both teams are tired as this is 4 games in 6 nights for them.  The Capitals are playing B-2-B with travel as well though.  I really think the Lightning come out flying here as their coach is not a happy man.  If Tortorella could put on the pads, he would.  He won’t need to as the big 3 score a lot for Tampa.
Tampa Bay – H

Nashville at Colorado
This is the final game of a home and home series and although Colorado is playing their 3rd in 4, they are the 2nd best team on home ice this year.  Nashville has been bitten by the flu bug and need one more game to get back on track and off the toilets.
Colorado – H

Vancouver at Edmonton
This great series will continue.  4 games have been played this year with Vancouver winning the first 2, and Edmonton the next couple.  Luongo was a star in their 2 wins, but with him on the shelf the Oilers will look to pounce.
Edmonton – H

Minnesota at Los Angeles
Another flu bug strikes an NHL team and will cost them a victory.  Both teams are tired, but at least one team can keep their food and fluids in them.  LA won the first meeting in a shootout.
Los Angeles – H

New Jersey – H
Ottawa – H+
Detroit – H+
Tampa Bay – H
