Saturday’s NHL Picks: March 25, 2017

Picking the winners of Saturday's NHL action.

Welcome back! I started a new job so I made fewer picks than normal this week going 5 – 4. My season record now sits at 165 – 95 (63%) and with only two weeks left in the regular season, I'll be pleased if it stays around there. I'm taking primarily home teams, most of which are heavy favourites. Unfortunately, due to a prior commitment I'm not able to provide the game notes but I'll chime in with a few thoughts.

Record 41 – 25 (62%)

Philadelphia @ Columbus (2pm ET)

Sergei Bobrovsky might have lost his last game but he's been playing pretty great otherwise. The Blue Jackets should have an easy time with this one.

Pick: Columbus – Home Team Victory – H

Confidence Level: 4/5

Vancouver @ Minnesota (2pm ET)

With the Wild stumbling right now, they may look like fresh meat to most teams. That said, the Canucks aren't most teams. I'm expecting the Wild to start the turn around come Saturday night.

Pick: Minnesota – Home Team Victory – H

Confidence Level: 4/5

Ottawa @ Montreal (7pm ET)

After calling Ottawa to win last Saturday, they went on to lose both that game as well as the follow up on Sunday. I've learnt my lesson and will follow the rule of betting on Carey Price come Saturdays.

Pick: Montreal – Home Team Victory – H

Confidence Level: 3.5/5

Arizona @ Washington (7pm ET)

I finally broke the Coyotes' curse, so I'm doubling down and going with the home team favourites in Washington. I'm hoping for another stellar performance from Nicklas Backstrom to help me win my semi finals match and wouldn't mind the two points from Holtby in my points only league.

Pick: Washington – Home Team Victory – H

Confidence Level: 5/5

Colorado @ Edmonton (10pm ET)

While I was expecting the Oilers to win when these teams met on Thursday, I couldn't have guessed how it would have happened. I'm thinking Saturday will be closer to what I had in mind. Here's hoping Cam Talbot inches closer to that 40-win record held by Grant Fuhr.

Pick: Edmonton – Home Team Victory – H

Confidence Level: 4.5/5

New York @ Los Angeles (10:30pm ET)

Neither team has been great as of late, so I'm going with the Rangers here based on their road record. Henrik Lundqvist should be back and I'm liking him to look like he's ready for the post season.

Pick: New York – Visitor Team Victory – V

Confidence Level: 3/5
