Saturday’s NHL Game Picks – December 2

Adam Mark

2017-12-02

Finally… my first perfect Saturday of the season. I’m not going to lie, it felt pretty good checking the scores throughout the day. It was a great end to the week where I was able to get Nick Leddy in two of my keeper leagues, for next to nothing. I was giddy when the deals went through as I didn’t have to give up anything worthwhile. One deal essentially equated to Brendan Gallagher and a 2nd for Leddy and an 8th, the other was Evgenii Dadonov and a 3rd for Leddy and a 5th. It’s not often steals like this arise, let alone two in one week. All praise the hockey gods =)

This week however, has been a completely different story. Thus far I’ve gone 4-7, and any chance that the wound the Vancouver Canucks left me with years ago, would heal, is dwindling. I am pulling for Saturday to turn my week around.

A few thoughts:

·         What is going on in St. Louis? 2 losses and a total of 3 goals? I can’t see this lasting for long, however I don’t think one day is enough to turn it around against Minnesota at home.

·         Again, Carey Price at Home on Hockey Night in Canada. Ship it.

·         I can’t be the only one happy to see Sidney Crosby finally starting to find some consistency in his game. His 5 points this week should be enough to seal the win in my H2H match.

·         Unrelated to today’s games, but man oh man, what a tough loss for the Edmonton Oilers on Thursday night against the Leafs. As much as I may rag on my friends who bleed blue and orange, I am secretly rooting for them to do well.
