Player Props: All About the Lightning (Over/Under Plays)

Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals is a must-win for the Tampa Bay Lightning after they lost the first two games of the series on the road against the Colorado Avalanche. The Lightning lost Game 1 in overtime, but Game 2 wasn't nearly as close, as the Avalanche embarrassed them 7 – 0. But now, the back-to-back champs the Lightning, are back on home ice for the next two games of the series. The Lightning have looked like a different team when they get to play at home. During the playoffs, the Lightning are an ugly 5 – 6 on the road and an impressive 7 – 1 at home. I think the Lightning will continue their winning ways on home ice, and I am exclusively picking Lightning players for my prop bets.

Below are a few of my favorite prop bets for tonight's game to consider:

Ondrej Palat Over 0.5 Points (-140)

Palat has been very similar to the entire Lightning team during the playoffs, great at home, and not so great on the road. He is currently second on the team in points with 17 in 19 games. He has 12 points in eight games at home and only five in 11 road games. Also, Palat has registered at least one point in every home game so far in the playoffs. The way that Palat has been producing at home makes this a very easy pick for me to make.

Steven Stamkos Anytime Goal (+160)

The reasoning behind the play is very similar to the Palat one, Stamkos has been a lot better at home. He has seven goals in eight home games and only 2 goals in 11 road games. He has scored in his last three home games and four of his last five. You could see how frustrated Stamkos was last game, and I think he is going to be flying for Game 3. If the Lightning want to get back into this series, they will need their captain to produce.

Nikita Kucherov Over 0.5 Assists (-140)

Kucherov is doing what he does best during the playoffs, produce offense. He is leading the team in points with 24 in 19 games. He is running at nearly an assist per game pace with 17 in his 19 games. At home during the playoffs, he is averaging an assist per game with eight in eight games. With the Lightning falling behind two games to none, they will need their big guns to produce if they want a chance to win. I have a gut feeling that Kucherov will assist on a Stamkos goal on route to a win in Game 3 for the Lightning. The fact he is averaging an assist per game at home, as well as my gut feeling, I am very confident in this bet.

Anthony Cirelli Over 1.5 Shots (-170)

When it comes to shots, Cirelli has been similar to most of his teammates, better at home. Throughout the playoffs, he has registered 35 shots in 19 games.  Of his 35 shots, 20 of them have come in his eight home games. Also, he has been on fire lately when it comes to hitting the over for this bet. He has had two or more shots in five of his last six games, and seven of his last nine. Over his last nine games, he has registered 26 shots, which is just one shot short of three shots per game. The amount Cirelli has been shooting the puck lately makes me love this play.

Enjoy the game tonight everyone, and hopefully, we can cash some bets! Always remember to gamble responsibly.

Odds are from Bet365 as of Monday morning
