Thursday Prop picks: Stützle and Tkachuk Firing At Will; Kane Will Assist In New York

It is Thursday once again, so let's find some winning NHL props. The NHL has 10 games on the schedule tonight, meaning there are a ton of options for us to find some winning props. I've taken my time to carefully look over every matchup tonight, and I think I've found a few props that can win us some money. The research is done, the picks are in, and now it's time to watch some hockey!

Below, I highlight three player props that stood out to me for tonight's games. My record this season stands at (25 – 14) after going (0 – 3) last Thursday, hopefully, we can get back on track and sweep the board tonight!

Tim Stutzle – Over 2.5 Shots (-128)

Tim Stutzle has been lights out recently when it comes to this shot prop. Over his last 10 games, he is averaging 3.60 shots per game, a big jump up from his season average of 2.88 shots per game. He is also averaging 6.10 shot attempts per game over this 10 game stretch, proving that his increase in shots hasn't been a fluke. Stutzle has recorded three or more shots in 11 of his past 13 games, and in five of his last six on the road. His strong play on the road is a good sign considering the Ottawa Senators are on the road tonight against the New York Rangers. Stutzle has played the Rangers twice so far this season, recording 10 shots in those two games, showing me that the bright lights of Madison Square Garden don't phase him. The Rangers will be playing their second game of a back-to-back tonight, and they will be playing with only five defensemen, as Ryan Lindgren and K'Andre Miller are still out of the lineup. With the Rangers in a back-to-back spot and missing two of their top-4 defensemen, I expect them to have a tougher time defensively tonight, which should give Stutzle a good opportunity to win us this bet.

Matthew Tkachuk – Over 3.5 Shots (-143)

Matthew Tkachuk has been scratching and clawing to try and keep the Florida Panthers in the playoff hunt, and I expect the same from him tonight as the Panthers host the struggling Nashville Predators. There are two main reasons I like this play tonight, Tkachuk has been outshooting his season average lately, and he shoots more when playing on home ice. Tkachuk has been averaging 3.97 shots per game this season overall, but while on home ice he is averaging 4.38 shots per game. His higher output at home has led to him recording four or more shots in seven straight home games. Also, over his last 10 games overall he is averaging 4.70 shots per game, which has led to him recording at least four shots in three straight games and 10 of 13. Considering how good Tkachuk has been playing recently, how good he is on home ice, and how the Predators are struggling, I expect Tkachuk to have a big game tonight.

Patrick Kane – Over 0.5 Assists (+105)

Hey, why not! Patrick Kane will be making his New York Rangers debut tonight at Madison Square Garden where the Rangers are hosting the Ottawa Senators. Leading up to his trade there were a lot of questions surrounding Kane about his health and effort levels, well his last four games for Chicago answered those questions. He recorded 10 points in those four games, recording an assist in three of the games, proving he can still provide offence with the best of them. It looks like Kane will be reunited with Artemi Panarin on the second line, and I won't be surprised if he ends up on the top powerplay unit. I assume Kane will make a splash in his first game with the Rangers, and don't be surprised if it's an assist on a Panarin goal.
